We were lucky to catch up with Nicole Bradley recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nicole , so happy to have you with us today. You are such a creative person, but have you ever head any sort of creativity block along the way? If so, can you talk to us about how you overcame or beat it?
Writer’s block happens to every writer! I overcome it by removing distractions, listening to music, reading other books that help to motivate and inspire me. I give myself grace, knowing that what i need to write will come but sometimes it just not be the right time.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a strategic and enthusiastic communications leader. My professional journey has been filled with many great opportunities in the media and communications industry.
Currently, I am Senior Account Manager at Premion, TEGNA’s OTT advertising service. I am responsible for the management of sales and relationships with clients. I help to maintain the company’s existing sales relationships with a client or group of clients, so that they will continue using the company for business.
I pride myself in networking and staying active professionally and socially. I have been a member of NAMIC (National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications), NABJ (National Association of Black Journalists) and Colorcomm (Women of Color in Communications). These professional groups educate, advocate, and empower for multi-ethnic diversity in the communications, marketing, advertising, and media industries.
I am the President/Executive Director of the Renee J. Bradley Foundation for Domestic Violence. The foundation was created by her husband Siyan Bradley, in memory of his late mother Renee who was a victim of domestic violence. The foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preventing domestic violence from happening in as many young people’s lives as possible.
In May 2022, I became a proud member of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated. Jack and Jill boast 252 chapters nationwide, representing more than 40,000 family members. Each chapter plans annual programming activities guided under a general five-point programmatic thrust: cultural awareness, educational development, health (education and advocacy), civic (legislative advocacy and service) and social/recreational areas. Through service projects, Jack and Jill of America creates a medium of contact for children to stimulate their growth and development.
I am making my mark as a writer and is on a mission to spread literature to all children everywhere. Writing has always been a passion and a hobby for me. I believe that writing is one of the greatest forms of self-expression. I use writing to express positivity, healthy family relationships and bring awareness to diversity. I self-published my first book in 2008; a book of poems entitled Heartfelt: A Collection of Poems. The Adventures of Maddie & Mack: The Big Sister Blues was my first children’s book published in 2019 followed by The Adventures of Maddie & Mack: Maddie the Boss published in 2021. The Adventures of Maddie & Mack: I Can be Anything is my third book from this children’s book series published in 2023. This book is also the first rhyme book in the series that pays homage to African American singers.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Resilience. grace and focus! Never give up on your goals and dreams. Surround yourself around individuals and organizations that will help develop your gifts and talents. Find your community.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When feeling overwhelemed i give myself a moment to realign and to get grounded. I priortize what is most important in the moment.
