Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Nicole with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

My work ethic comes from a combination of passion, perseverance, and the values instilled in me growing up. I’ve always been driven by my love for beauty and the ability to help people feel their best. From a young age, I was playing in hair and makeup, and that early passion turned into a career when I started LAFAYE BEAUTY.

Building a business, especially while balancing life’s challenges like becoming a mother, has required discipline and resilience. I don’t wait for motivation to strike I stay consistent, knowing that every step I take is bringing me closer to my bigger vision. My work ethic is fueled by my dedication to growth, providing quality services, and making an impact in my clients’ lives.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m the owner of LAFAYE BEAUTY, a brand dedicated to enhancing natural beauty through expert hair care, wig customization, and protective styling. What sets LAFAYE BEAUTY apart is the personalized experience I provide, every service is rooted in not just styling, but also educating clients on how to maintain the health of their hair. My goal is to help people feel confident and beautiful in a way that suits their lifestyle.

One of the most exciting aspects of what I do is seeing the transformation, whether it’s a custom wig that gives someone a new level of confidence or a protective style that helps a client embrace their natural beauty with ease. I love creating looks that are both stylish and functional, and that passion fuels everything I do.

Right now, I’m focused on growing LAFAYE BEAUTY and expanding my reach. I’m always working on ways to improve my services and possibly introduce new offerings in the future. Stay tuned for updates because there’s definitely more to come!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey with LAFAYE BEAUTY are resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning.
1. Resilience – Building a business, especially in the beauty industry, comes with ups and downs. From navigating unexpected challenges to learning how to balance entrepreneurship with everyday life, resilience has been key. My advice? Stay committed even when things get tough. Every setback is a lesson, and the ability to push through will set you apart.
2. Adaptability – The beauty industry is always evolving, and being able to pivot has been crucial. I started LAFAYE BEAUTY with makeup and hairstyling, later shifting my focus to wigs and protective styles. Being open to change and recognizing what works best for you and your clients is essential. For those just starting, don’t be afraid to adjust your vision as you grow. Listen to feedback, watch industry trends, and be willing to refine your craft.
3. Continuous Learning – I’ve been passionate about hair and beauty since I was nine, but that passion alone wasn’t enough I had to invest in education, practice, and networking to really elevate my skills. Whether it’s taking a course, watching tutorials, or connecting with other professionals, learning never stops. My advice? Never feel like you know it all. The more you grow your knowledge, the more valuable you become in your industry.

For anyone early in their journey, stay patient, stay focused, and stay willing to learn. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but every step forward brings you closer to your goals.

How would you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client is someone who appreciates personalized, high-quality services and is open to learning about proper hair maintenance.

I love working with clients who trust the process, communicate their needs, and are excited about enhancing their beauty in a way that fits their lifestyle. Whether they’re looking for a custom wig for versatility, a protective style to maintain their natural hair, or simply a stylist who prioritizes hair health, my goal is to provide a service that leaves them feeling confident and empowered.

Ultimately, my best clients are those who see LAFAYE BEAUTY as more than just a service; they see it as an experience where they can relax, feel taken care of, and leave with a look that makes them feel amazing.
