Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nicole Groleau. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nicole, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I feel that confidence and self esteem seem to flow naturally when you are passionate about something. Discovering a craft that truly lights you up, not only fuels your own growth but also has the power to inspire and uplift others.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Nicole, and I am a cyanotype artist and the owner of Bleueprint. I grew up on the East Coast and moved to Austin, Texas, in 2000. Art has always been a part of my life — I got my first camera at the age of 14, and I’ve been creating ever since. In 2021, I founded Bleueprint out of a deep desire to create something meaningful, something that could inspire, teach, and support the environment.
As an artist, I design beautiful imagery using local plant life and also develop photographs through the cyanotype process. Beyond creating, I teach classes and offer a wedding floral print service. With this, I preserve flowers from special occasions as cyanotype prints, delivering both the physical artwork and a digital file so families can continue to create with those memories in the future.
Sustainability is at the heart of my brand. It’s important to me that Bleueprint is known as an environmentally conscious studio that fosters awareness of the natural world and all its inhabitants. In the months ahead, I plan to grow connections with nonprofits such as iNaturalist and Merlin Bird ID, continuing to blend art with education, conservation, and community.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
One of my strongest traits is my ability to communicate well with others, which I believe is essential when running a business. Organization has never been my greatest strength, but it’s something I continue to work on and improve. Along the way, I’ve learned to be prepared for a lot of ‘no’s’—and to celebrate every ‘yes,’ because each one is progress.”

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
The person who has been most helpful to me is myself. You can seek advice and learn from others along the way, but at the end of the day, it’s up to you to develop the skills needed to be successful.
