We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nicole Marie VP a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Nicole Marie VP, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
My optimism definitely comes from my dad. He used to tell me, ‘If you know you have to wake up early in the morning, do it with a smile.’ It sounds simple, but that one line became my outlook on life. He’s a total go-getter — the kind of guy who never takes no for an answer — and watching him taught me that a positive attitude isn’t about ignoring challenges, it’s about tackling them with energy and purpose. That’s been my compass ever since.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am the Co-Founder and the strategic force behind Jatango, a groundbreaking platform designed to connect sellers with stores, brands, and businesses in real time through Dual Live Shows. As a strategist, I have been instrumental in shaping Jatango’s growth — building systems, teams, and partnerships that empower creators and businesses to collaborate, engage, and sell live in entirely new ways.
Working alongside my brother and co-founder, Phil, the visionary technologist behind Jatango’s core concept, I have helped turn an ambitious idea into a scalable platform redefining digital commerce. Together, we have led Jatango through innovation, challenges, and major milestones — including the company’s patented Dual Lives™ technology, a world-first advancement that enables a Store or Brand that has products to hold them up during a Live show in a side by side window with an Affiliate Seller who brings the audience and the fun together, creating authentic, interactive selling experiences that drive connection and community at scale.
My leadership philosophy blends sharp strategy with deep purpose. Guided by my faith and grounded in perseverance, I live by Matthew 19:26: Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” It’s a principle that has shaped not only my approach to business but to every breakthrough and challenge that Jatango has faced.
Before stepping into the world of technology and entrepreneurship, my journey began in music — where I learned the power of storytelling, emotion, and human connection. That creative foundation continues to influence my strategic vision today, reminding me that innovation is most powerful when it resonates from the heart.
I am a Singer, songwriter, producer, & actress. I help lead Jatango’s brand, creative vision, and community-building efforts, injecting my entertainment background into tech and commerce. My faith in God is why I am here today. Thanking God for his grace, Mercy and protection, and giving God all the praise.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that made the biggest impact on my journey are resilience, positivity, and kindness. You have to be able to get back up when you fall — because you will fall. Having a positive mindset helps you see challenges as lessons, not losses. And being good to people, building solid relationships, that’s everything. No one succeeds alone.”
My advice to anyone starting out is simple: listen before you talk. Let other people speak before you give your opinion — it gives you the chance to really hear, to learn. And don’t ever let anyone tell you something isn’t possible. Sometimes people project their fears onto you because they couldn’t accomplish their own goals. Stay focused, stay grateful, and stay in prayer. Give God thanks for what you have — that’s how you prepare yourself to receive what’s next.
Always remember to stay humble because you never know what people are going through. You may just be the person that took the time to listen to someone who had an idea, and now that person was able to turn around and help you.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
My parents showed me how to believe in my self. My brother Phil showed me that I can go any where in the world at any time and nothing can hold me back. I am very proud of my brother and all of his accomplishments, he was the mastermind behind Jatango, I was just the sister that gave that extra push, even when he did not want it.
