We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nicole Soyka. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nicole below.
Hi Nicole, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I’ve been fascinated by personal style since I was young. I discovered early on that when you dress in a way that feels authentically like you, you’re able to express yourself externally and mirror your unique essence from the inside out. There’s something almost magical about sharing pieces of yourself through how you choose to present yourself to the world—I found that so powerful.
That passion led me to study fashion merchandising in college, though at the time I wasn’t sure if it would ever become more than just something I loved. But I kept noticing how much it impacted my own life—how putting on something that made me feel like me would boost my confidence, change the energy of my entire day, and help me shine my light into the world. There’s an almost quantum aspect to dressing in alignment with who you truly are. When you do, you step into your highest self and experience life differently.
For years, I had a successful corporate marketing career, but something was missing. I kept coming back to this knowing that I could make a real difference helping women find their authentic essence through color and style. When I finally started this work, everything clicked. It lit me up in a way nothing else had, and I knew without question—this is my purpose.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I offer color analysis services in several formats to meet people where they are. For those who want a personalized, immersive experience, I offer one-on-one in-person sessions. I also host color analysis parties—these are perfect for friend get-togethers, bachelorette parties, or just a fun group experience where everyone discovers their best colors together. For companies looking to offer something unique, I provide corporate events that blend team building with personal development. And for clients who aren’t local or prefer the convenience, I offer virtual color analysis sessions.
Beyond color, I have style packages that dive deeper into your complete style profile, combining a few style systems together into one. This is where my integrated approach really comes into play. You may have wondered whether the 7 Style Essences and the Kibbe system are the same thing. While both help you understand your personal style, they take different approaches. Kibbe focuses primarily on your physical features—your bone structure, proportions, and body lines—to create a cohesive look. The 7 Style Essences go deeper, considering not just how you look, but who you are: your personality, lifestyle, and the energy you want to express through your clothing.
That’s why I combine both systems to create your personalized style profile. This integrated approach gives you something truly custom—a style guide that helps you understand your body architecture while truly honing in on your personal style. It honors you as a complete person, inside and out, so you can express your authentic essence through your wardrobe.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities, skills, and areas of knowledge most impactful on my journey:
Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful elements were courage and authenticity, my combined formal and self-directed education, and understanding the deeper psychology of personal transformation.
First, having the courage to follow my passion—and staying authentic to my vision—was everything. Leaving a successful corporate marketing career to pursue something that truly lit me up required trusting myself in a way I never had before. There were moments of doubt, but I kept coming back to knowing that I could make a real difference. That authenticity also shaped my unique approach. I didn’t just copy what other stylists were doing; I trusted my intuition that combining the Kibbe system with the 7 Style Essences would create something more holistic and transformative for my clients.
Second, investing deeply in my craft made all the difference. My formal education in fashion merchandising gave me a strong foundation, but I didn’t stop there. I immersed myself in mastering color theory, color analysis techniques, and both the Kibbe and Style Essences systems. My corporate marketing background also turned out to be invaluable—those communication and business skills helped me articulate the transformations I provide and actually run a sustainable business. I learned to see myself not just as a stylist, but as someone creating meaningful experiences, whether that’s an intimate one-on-one session or a fun color analysis party.
Third, understanding the psychology of style and self-expression has been crucial. This work isn’t just about looking good—it’s about that quantum aspect of aligning your external presentation with your internal essence. I’ve learned that when clients feel truly seen and understood as complete people, the transformation goes so much deeper. It impacts their confidence, how they show up in the world, and ultimately their joy and fulfillment in life. Understanding this psychological and even energetic dimension of style has allowed me to create something far more meaningful than just wardrobe recommendations.
My advice for those early on in their journey:
Trust your intuition about your unique approach. What makes you different is your greatest asset. Don’t be afraid to combine systems, create new methods, or approach your work in a way that feels authentic to you, even if it’s not what everyone else is doing.
Invest deeply in learning your craft, but also in business skills. Master the technical aspects—whether that’s color analysis, styling systems, or whatever your specialty is. But also learn how to communicate transformations, manage clients, and run the business side of things. Both matter equally.
Focus on the transformation you provide, not just the service. When you understand the deeper impact of your work—how it changes people’s lives, confidence, and self-expression—everything shifts. Your marketing becomes more authentic, your client relationships deepen, and your work becomes infinitely more fulfilling.
Don’t be afraid to pivot from what’s “safe.” Whether that’s leaving a stable job, trying a new approach, or expanding your services in unexpected ways (like color analysis parties or corporate events), sometimes the biggest growth comes from taking risks that feel aligned with your purpose.
Build authentic connections with your clients. This work is deeply personal. When you approach each client with empathy and a genuine desire to see and honor them as a complete person, inside and out, that’s when the real magic happens. That’s when you know you’re not just building a business—you’re fulfilling your purpose.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
What I do when I feel overwhelmed:
Running your own business can be intense, and I’ve definitely had my share of overwhelming moments. Over time, I’ve developed strategies that help me stay grounded and reconnect with my purpose.
First, I lean on my community. Friends and family are my anchors. Sometimes just talking things through with people who love and support you makes all the difference. I also go back to my “why”—remembering that I’m helping people and the real impact this work has. Looking at client testimonials and transformation stories reminds me of the joy this work brings, both to my clients and to me. That perspective shift is incredibly powerful.
I have a daily mindfulness and meditation practice that keeps me centered. I’m very into breathwork, especially when my mind is racing. It’s about staying in my body and getting grounded rather than getting swept away by anxious thoughts. This has been a culmination of working with so many incredible coaches and spiritual and somatic practitioners over the years. They’ve helped me learn how to give my best while also staying grounded and leaning into the badass that I know I am.
I also practice what I preach—I use color and clothes as a tool to shift my energy. If I’m feeling anxious, if I’ve got a hard day ahead, or if I’m just feeling off, color and style really always bring me back to my center and back to my energy. I know for me, my highest self shows up when I’m aligned with how I present myself. It’s not superficial—it’s about that quantum connection between how you feel inside and how you show up in the world.
And finally, compassion and forgiveness for myself as a human. You make mistakes, and that’s okay. That’s how we grow. I’ve never done life before, and neither has anyone else. Giving ourselves a break is so, so important. When I extend that same grace to myself that I’d give to a friend or client, everything becomes more manageable.
My advice: Find what grounds YOU. Whether it’s meditation, movement, talking to loved ones, or something else entirely—build those practices into your life before you need them. And remember, feeling overwhelmed doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. It means you’re human, and you’re growing. Honor that process.
