Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nikita. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nikita , thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?
For me, persistence wasn’t optional nor a choice…it was purely survival.
I’ve learned that not everyone will clap for you, even when you’re not competing. I’ve never had a big circle or a long list of friends, not because I didn’t want them, but because too many people carry hidden envy. Some saw the little I had and still resented it, because I never looked like my storms or my struggles. In the business world, it’s just as hard. You share an idea out of passion, and suddenly you see it replicated without acknowledgment. People will downplay your light just to feel brighter in your glow.
But God doesn’t allow what’s meant for you to be taken. I’ve had to remind myself of that through every setback and betrayal. My persistence comes from knowing that I’m the only consistent provider and example my daughters have. They’re my strength & reason…I’m their foundation and their proof that we can rise from anything. I don’t have the luxury of giving up. Every morning, I wake up with the same mindset: I’m going to show up for them and for myself, because we will be alright. Remembering why I started keeps me grounded; proving to myself & my girls that I could build something beautiful from what tried to break me. My peace, my brands, and my purpose all came from seasons where I had to stand alone and trust that God wasn’t isolating me, He was positioning me.
My strength comes from the seasons I spent alone, when silence forced me to grow and isolation became preparation. I persist because I’ve already survived what was meant to break me. Now, when I hear a no, I take it as redirection. When I see envy, I take it as confirmation. And when I look at my daughters, I see every reason to keep going.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Nikita Reyanna, but most recognize me as The Brand It Girl. I’m the founder of Luminous Luxe GRFX, which has been my design studio for years. It’s now evolving into Studio Favored GRFX, the next phase of my creative house under my personal brand, Nikita Reyanna.
After years of designing for others through my studio, I realized I wasn’t just creating pretty visuals. I was helping women step into their power. So now, everything I do sits under Your Pretty Favored Era.
For me, this journey has been nothing short of divine timing. I started with nothing but vision, skill, and faith — no investors, no team, just late nights after my daughters fell asleep and a dream that I refused to let die. Over time, I turned that dream into multiple thriving brands that serve women in beauty, business, and beyond.
What makes my work special is how it feels. I know what it’s like to be the black sheep. The one with big ideas people overlook until they see them actually work. That’s why I built my empire around giving other women that same confidence: to stand out, take up space, and build something lasting, even when no one believes in you yet.
Through Studio Favored GRFX, Pretty Paid Brands, and Pretty Favored Faces, I help women turn their creative visions into high-performing, pretty (paid) businesses. I teach them to move with confidence and clarity, to build brands that don’t chase trends but set them.
It’s not just about being seen. It’s about being booked, branded, and boldly paid for who you are. From visuals to strategy, I help women show up like that girl in business. Ensuring they show up confident, aligned, and cashing in with purpose.
This era isn’t about chasing validation or perfection. It’s about walking in favor, trusting the process, and knowing that what’s for me can’t miss me. Everything I create now is a reflection of that truth.
Welcome to Your Pretty Favored Era. 💕

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back on my startup years and all the lessons that came with them, I can sum up everything I’ve learned into three qualities that honestly changed the game for me.
1. Do your research—always. Never move like you know everything. The most successful entrepreneurs are students first. Learn your industry inside and out.. that means study the market, understand your audience, look into funding options, and analyze what makes other founders successful. You should be so well-versed in your craft that it becomes second nature. Knowledge is confidence, and confidence builds credibility. This is what separates you from the completely inexperienced.
2. Stay open and adaptable. The way the economy moves now, you can’t afford to be one dimensional. Have a plan B, C, and D ready to go. We live in a digital world where things can shift overnight; sometimes it’s overnight success, sometimes it’s a total pivot. Either way, being adaptable positions you to move with strategy instead of panic. There’s been numerous times where my tech would crash during completion of huge client projects where I’ve had to completely shift gears and remain professional about the deliverables for my clients as well as still remaining in positive spirits regardless of personal situations or setbacks. The ones who can pivot gracefully always come out on top.
3. Lead with empathy. Being an underdog taught me how emotionless and transactional the entrepreneurial world can be and I refused to move that way. Leading with empathy doesn’t mean letting people play in your face; it means remembering that business is still about people. Every client, collaboration, or connection deserves a level of humanity. Sometimes you have to look at the person as a whole and mitigate the dollar value. The current economy is pushing a lot of single people & families towards scarcity..its more humane to offer bartering than it is to turn away customers who can hardly afford necessities but still want to support your business with the little they have remaining. It isn’t about compromising your business policies integrity, but it is about a positive impact & being the one who they tell others about. When you lead with heart and strategy, the right opportunities start to align for you naturally.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Two books that really shifted my mindset as a woman in business are “Just Fcking Do It”* by Noor Hibbert and “The Most Powerful Woman in the Room Is You” by Lydia Fenet. Honestly, the titles alone are enough to light a fire in you. They remind me daily to just go for it, to own who I am, and to show up as the most confident, evolved version of myself. I keep them on my nightstand & refer back to them whenever the imposter syndrome tries to creep in. And another bonus recommendation that really FORCED me to move like I wanted success to chase me is “The 10x Rule” by Grant Cardone. I stumbled upon The 10x Rule & all I can say is it really made me stop in my tracks to continue reading. From that day forward my drive shifted instantly & everything clicked. I highly recommend these three books.
“Just Fcking Do It”* taught me how much power we lose by overthinking. Noor Hibbert breaks down how manifestation isn’t just about wishing. It’s about reprogramming your mindset and aligning your actions with what you want. The biggest gem for me was realizing that fear and faith can’t live in the same space. Every time I caught myself second-guessing an idea, I’d hear that voice: “just f*cking do it,” and it would push me to move before I talk myself out of opportunities.
On the other hand, “The Most Powerful Woman in the Room Is You” by Lydia Fenet gave me the confidence to take up space unapologetically. Lydia’s lessons on commanding a room, leading with grace, and selling with authenticity changed the way I present myself in business. One of her standout points is that power isn’t about being loud or intimidating. It’s about presence, preparation, and owning your story. That hit home for me because as a Black woman in business, I had to learn early that power doesn’t always have to roar. Sometimes it just is. And as someone who typically tries to play the backburner & behind the scenes positions…this book gave me the push I needed to literally stop pretending to be small, less than & afraid to own my truth, talents & passions.
Together, those books taught me that execution and self-belief are the real cheat codes. The moment you stop waiting for perfect timing and start showing up like the version of you that already has it all figured out, everything starts aligning.
Because when you move like the woman you’re becoming, the world adjusts accordingly.
