Meet Nikita Gupta

We were lucky to catch up with Nikita Gupta recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikita, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I found my purpose through one of the most challenging times of my life. When I was searching for a job, I felt completely lost. I faced rejection after rejection, and no matter how hard I tried, nothing seemed to work. It was exhausting and disheartening. I remember questioning my worth and wondering if I’d ever find the right opportunity.

But in the middle of all that frustration, I realized I wasn’t alone. So many people were struggling just like me—feeling confused, overwhelmed, and unsure of their next steps. That’s when it clicked. I didn’t want anyone else to feel as lost as I did. I wanted to create something that could genuinely help people find their way.

That’s why I started Careerflow.ai. I wanted to build a platform that could guide job seekers, give them the support they need, and help them feel confident about their careers. Knowing that I could turn my struggles into a solution for others gave me purpose. Every time I hear about someone landing their dream job through Careerflow, it feels like a small victory—not just for them but for me too, because it reminds me why I started this journey in the first place.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m Nikita Gupta, the co-founder of Careerflow.ai and a career influencer with a community of over 500,000 followers. At Careerflow, we’re on a mission to make job searching easier and more empowering for people everywhere. We use advanced AI to provide personalized guidance and tools that help job seekers navigate every step of their career journey—from crafting the perfect resume to acing interviews.

What excites me the most about what we do is the impact we’re making. We’re not just helping people find jobs; we’re helping them find confidence and clarity in their career paths. Knowing that we’ve supported over 800,000 job seekers so far is incredibly rewarding. I’ve been in their shoes, feeling lost and overwhelmed, and that’s why this work is so close to my heart.

As a career influencer, I’m passionate about sharing real, relatable career advice. I started creating content because I wanted to be the voice I needed when I was struggling with my own job search. I love connecting with my audience, hearing their stories, and helping them overcome challenges. It’s amazing to see how powerful a community can be when people lift each other up. Reaching over half a million people is both humbling and inspiring, and it drives me to keep creating impactful content.

Right now, we’re in an exciting phase of growth. We’re also focusing on building partnerships with universities, bootcamps, and career coaches to better support students and professionals as they navigate the ever-changing job market.

At Careerflow, we’re constantly evolving and looking for ways to make the job search process more intuitive and less stressful. If you’re on the hunt for your next opportunity, or if you’re just looking to take the next step in your career, I’d love for you to check out what we’re building. It’s more than just a platform; it’s a community that’s here to support you every step of the way. Through my journey as an influencer, I hope to continue inspiring and empowering people to reach their full potential.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, there are three things that truly shaped my journey: resilience, empathy, and adaptability.

Resilience – There were so many times when I felt like giving up. Building Careerflow.ai wasn’t easy. There were sleepless nights, moments of doubt, and times when nothing seemed to work. I faced rejections, setbacks, and failures that felt crushing. But each time, I reminded myself why I started—because I didn’t want anyone else to feel as lost as I did during my job search. That purpose kept me going. My advice? Don’t be afraid to fail. It’s okay to fall apart sometimes, as long as you get back up. Surround yourself with people who believe in you, even when you don’t believe in yourself.

Empathy – I know what it feels like to be stuck, confused, and overwhelmed while job hunting. I remember feeling like I was shouting into the void, sending out countless applications and hearing nothing back. That pain was real, and it’s what inspired me to create Careerflow. I wanted to build something that genuinely helped people, something that gave them hope and direction. If you’re starting out, let your experiences shape your purpose. Think about the struggles you’ve faced and how you can help others overcome them. When you lead with empathy, your work becomes so much more meaningful.

Adaptability – Nothing goes exactly as planned. When we started Careerflow, we thought we had it all figured out. But the tech world changes fast, and we had to learn to adapt quickly. There were times when we had to pivot our strategies, rethink our features, and basically start from scratch. It was scary and stressful, but it taught me to be flexible and open-minded. If you’re just beginning, don’t be afraid to change course. Don’t get too attached to one idea or one way of doing things. Be willing to learn, unlearn, and relearn. It’s uncomfortable, but it’s how you grow.

If you’re early in your journey, just know that it’s okay to not have it all figured out. Embrace the ups and downs. Lean into your purpose, keep an open heart, and never stop learning. It’s messy, but it’s worth it. And someday, you’ll look back and realize that every struggle made you stronger.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

I wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible people who believed in me and lifted me up when I needed it the most. My family has always been my rock. During the toughest times—when I faced rejection after rejection and felt like giving up—they reminded me of my worth and encouraged me to keep going. Their unwavering support gave me the strength to push through even when I doubted myself.

My co-founder and team at Careerflow.ai have also been a huge source of inspiration and growth. We’ve faced countless challenges together—late nights, failed experiments, and moments of uncertainty. But having people by my side who are just as passionate and driven as I am has made all the difference. We lift each other up, learn from each other’s strengths, and grow together. It’s a reminder that no one succeeds alone; the right team can make even the hardest days feel a little lighter.

I’ve also been lucky to have incredible mentors who guided me through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. They shared their experiences, offered valuable advice, and sometimes just listened when I needed to vent. Their wisdom helped me see challenges from a different perspective and taught me to navigate setbacks with resilience and grace.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that surrounding yourself with the right people is everything. Find those who believe in you, who challenge you to grow, and who are there for you through the highs and lows. Lean on them, learn from them, and never take them for granted. Because at the end of the day, it’s the people around you who make the journey worthwhile.
