Meet Nikki Frechette

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nikki Frechette. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Nikki , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

My purpose emerged through a wild ride of healing and self-discovery, one that began with losing myself completely in co-dependency and the unhealed traumas of my former partners. For years, I was stuck on repeat in toxic relationships, brushing off red flags like they were “no big deal” and falling into the idea that control and possessiveness were just expressions of love – a deeply ingrained belief from my upbringing. To escape the pain and misery in my free-fall to rock bottom, I numbed myself, turning a blind eye to the truth and avoiding the depths of my suffering. Eventually, I hit my breaking point – a low in my life that forced me to confront the reality of my circumstances. I realized it was time to wrap up my pity party and stop letting the confetti of self-doubt and negative self-worth rain down on me.

That’s when I finally took the reins, dove headfirst into personal development, took responsibility for how my life was flailing, and flipped the script on my outdated beliefs. The Personal Empowerment Program (PEP) and Transformational Coaching Method were absolute game-changers. I learned that control is not love, and my worth is not defined by someone else’s expectations or demands. This journey didn’t just heal me – it lit a fire in me. I became a certified Domestic Violence Counselor Advocate through The Women’s Shelter of Long Beach and a Health & Transformational Life Coach through The Health Coach Institute, armed with the tools to not only transform my own life but also empower others to do the same.

By cultivating a clear vision for my life and aligning my actions with that vision, I was able to magnetize my higher purpose, which happens to be building and empowering communities of women and helping others tap into their inner power. Today, I am dedicated to sharing the knowledge, wisdom, and tools that have empowered me with women leaders who are guiding the next generation. Through mentorship and by creating supportive, safe spaces, I guide others in stepping into their power, just as I was once guided, leading to personal growth transformations that are both purposeful and profoundly fulfilling. Through my own healing journey, I’m living proof that inner work truly works – if you work it. That’s why I’m so passionate about personal development – because when you commit to it, magic happens, and now I’m all about that transformation glow-up!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Reflecting on my personal development journey, I’m reminded of the profound impact that self-love, mentorship, and community can have. Through deep soul-searching and a commitment to mentorship, I was able to break free from the dark cycles of toxic relationships. The stark contrast between the isolation of those times and the leadership roles I now hold serves as a humbling reminder of how far I’ve come, the inner strength we all carry, and the incredible potential we unlock when we take purposeful action.

As the Director of The Women’s Empowerment Mentorship Program for The Rose Bowl Institute, a non-profit organization that champions sportsmanship, leadership, and citizenship, I have the privilege of helping build a community of women leaders who mentor high school and college students, empowering them to cultivate confidence and leadership skills as they approach adulthood. This impactful program would not be possible without the invaluable support and leadership of Lauren Hall, the Programs Director; James Washington, the President; our generous mentors; and the entire support team of The Rose Bowl Institute. Through strategic partnerships like The Forward Female – a creative agency that empowers women to build successful businesses – we’ve expanded our reach by creating a digital community space where mentors and mentees connect, learn, and grow together.

In my role as the SoCal Community Director for EM/POWEREDbyWMN, founded by the remarkable Krystal Jugarap, I am focused on elevating women in business and fostering meaningful connections that celebrate the journeys of women-owned small businesses. Our online directory, publication partnerships, and speaker incubator are just a few of the many ways we bring visibility and connection to women in business. Think of EBW as your community platform and “Visibility Concierge,” shining a light on your product- or service-based brand.

In my work in Transformational Coaching, I’ve had the profound honor of co-creating the Design Your Destiny coaching program alongside Denise Roman, Mentoring Director for Treasures – a non-profit led by the inspiring and compassionate founder Harmony Dust, dedicated to empowering women in the sex industry and survivors of trafficking. This program is designed to help participants envision and actively shape a future aligned with their dreams, resilience, and potential. Together, we developed tools and resources to support these incredible women on their journey to healing, self-empowerment, and a fulfilling life. This experience has given me invaluable insights into managing a mentorship program, inspiring all the mentorship work I do today.

In the world of writing, I’m thrilled and grateful to be part of the upcoming anthology “Women Who Lead,” set for release on April 1, 2025, by HerEmpire Media. This book is a powerful collaboration, guided by the incredible Jennifer Lara, featuring several women in leadership, each sharing their personal journeys, challenges, and triumphs. The anthology highlights the strength, resilience, and determination of women who are shaping the future across various industries. It’s an inspiring collective of voices aimed at empowering readers to step into their own leadership roles and create meaningful impact. I’m thrilled to contribute my story alongside these remarkable women, and I look forward to the conversations and connections this project will spark.

Beyond mentorship and community development, my one-on-one coaching and workshop facilitation programs help women reconnect with their authentic selves and turn their passions into purpose-driven ventures.

Whether through coaching, writing, speaking, workshops, or facilitating mentorship, I am driven by the belief that empowering one woman has the power to create a ripple effect, transforming not only her life but the lives of those around her. It’s a belief that has been proven true time and time again in the communities and initiatives I serve.

My work focuses on helping women step into their power by providing guidance, tools, mentorship, and community. Whether you’re looking to grow personally or professionally, I’m here to support you in creating meaningful impact. I love connecting with individuals who are ready to invest in themselves and take their personal or professional growth to the next level. Whether you’re on a personal development journey, looking to lead your own workshops, a business owner looking for the right community platform, or wanting to give back through mentorship, I’m always happy to have a Discovery Call.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Without a doubt, the three most impactful qualities and skills that have impacted my journey are: (1) building a masterful life-skills toolkit, (2) keeping my joy game strong, and (3) bridging communities and networks.

First off, let’s talk about that “life-skills toolkit” – it’s the Swiss Army knife of personal growth. I’m talking healthy boundaries, self-respect, time-management hacks, energy balance, and knowing when to cut the nonsense and prioritize what truly matters. Learning to own my self-respect was life-altering. It’s like putting up a velvet rope around your energy and saying, “Sorry, but toxic behavior doesn’t make the guest list anymore.” With this toolkit, I can handle anything life throws my way, from relationships to business challenges, all while keeping my vibe intact.

Next up is joy, and let me tell you, it has become my superpower. Keeping my joy game strong isn’t about waiting for the stars to align – it’s about choosing happiness daily, even when things get messy. Gratitude, mindfulness, and a little dancing around in the kitchen when no one’s watching have kept me grounded and glowing through the highs and lows. Joy isn’t just a feeling; it’s a lifestyle. And it’s contagious!

And finally, bridging communities and networks – this is where the real magic happens. I’ve learned that connecting the dots between people and creating spaces where they can thrive together is pure gold. It’s like being a human power grid, lighting up opportunities and connections. When you bring the right people together, the possibilities are endless, and the impact? Next level.

For those who are early in their journey, here’s my advice: Treat yourself like the VIP you are – self-care, baby! Set those goals, break them down into bite-sized steps, and surround yourself with people who support your best interests and cheer you on, because no one thrives in isolation or negativity. And here’s the kicker: put yourself out there. Show up in spaces where people are connecting, networking, sharing resources, and celebrating life. Say yes to yourself and to opportunities that align with your passions and the trajectory you’re on. You’re your own best investment, so don’t hold back when it’s time to step up.

Find a mentor, set up accountability partners, and don’t forget to sprinkle gratitude over your day like confetti, (especially when you’re feeling low-vibe). When you’re showing up authentically and aligning your actions with who you truly are, the universe has a way of opening doors you didn’t even know were there. Personal growth is a marathon, not a sprint, so give yourself grace, celebrate every win (big or small), and always remember – kindness is magic!

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I’m always open to collaborating with individuals, organizations, and brands that share a passion for empowering women, promoting healthy and joyful living, and celebrating creativity.

As the SoCal Community Director for EM/POWEREDbyWMN, my focus is on building connections and creating opportunities through networking events that support and uplift women-owned businesses.

Additionally, as the founder of Mentor ConnectHER, I empower women to confidently hold space for others as well as turn their passions into profit by leading programs that equip female leaders to become impactful mentors and workshop facilitators.

I’m particularly interested in partnering with co-working spaces and event venues in Southern California, as well as brands that align with our mission of fostering growth, leadership, and community for women-owned businesses. Building meaningful connections is at the heart of these collaborations, ensuring we not only support but also uplift and empower women through intentional and impactful partnerships. By promoting one another’s brands and offering mutual support, we can create a powerful network that amplifies each other’s voices and strengthens our collective impact. If you’re passionate about making magic happen in these spaces, let’s connect and create something fabulous and meaningful together!
