Meet Nikki Price

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nikki Price a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Nikki, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
When I think of work ethic, I think of a melting pot of values that I try to incorporate into my life daily. Like the old saying goes, “anything worth doing, is worth doing well.” I use to strive to be the best of the the best. There was this invisible pressure to prove I can handle large work loads, quick deadlines, and grueling tasks with grace and beauty. The fact of the matter is I didn’t have a meaningful foundation. I hastily displayed all my skills and eventually got burn out. Now, that I have gone out on my own and started my own company I realize my core values are what will carry me throughout the years of growth. Being impeccable with your word and taking the high road have served me well, but discipline, balance, adaptability, & reliability are the pillars of my work ethic.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
A true lover of logistics and organization Event Planning came natural to me. Connecting with clients and couples brings me joy, and I am grateful everyday I get to do what I love. However, showing my daughters that you can have an impact on the world through your actions and voice is my true passion. As an active board member for Mountain Area Preservation, I can put my talents to use for the greater good. My community, and the world for that matter, is changing so quickly it is easy to feel small. I want to show my daughters that if you care about something you show up for it. When you work with me I donate to Mountain Area Preservation in your name. I want my clients to feel connected to Lake Tahoe and help preserve the beauty of the Sierras.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back I would say being an advocate for myself has been very impactful. Knowing what you want is important, but know what you don’t want is even greater. I believe that having empathy for those around you will give yo the space to be honest while staying true to you.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is someone who values what I do. He or she isn’t afraid to voice their opinions, and they trust the process. Being nice is always helpful too!
