Meet Niloofar Aliabadi

We were lucky to catch up with Niloofar Aliabadi recently and have shared our conversation below.

Niloofar, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I’ve discovered that my purpose is rooted in the intersection of two passions: flowers and fashion. Fashion is truly my main inspiration and has been influencing me throughout my entire life. Fashion is ever-evolving, filled with colors, textures, and bold statements. This translates directly into my work with flowers—mixing unexpected colors, using unique blooms, and creating designs that feel fresh and modern. My purpose lies in pushing boundaries and offering my clients something unique and curated just for them.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

As my business continues to grow I’ve evolved into a designer that takes a holistic approach when it comes to my services. Though my main medium is florals, I love incorporating props and even constructing things when needed to bring a space or theme of an event or shoot to life. I recently had the opportunity to work with the Atlanta Hawks for the She Leads Summit. Working closely with the production lead, Victoria Wilson, and the Hawks corporate team, we transformed what was their practice court into a stage for key note speakers and conference space. I’m also gearing up for a project for Atlanta Art Week where I’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with artist Lisa Li and transform the outdoor spaces at the Goat Farm into installations that play on light and reflections.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three main qualities and skills that hav been impactful in my journey is my knowledge on florals, color theory, and confidence in my work. Working with a natural and fresh products means seasonality, in different geographical locations and climates that will impact availability and how I care for the florals once they are in my studio. This knowledge has helped me avoid having large quantities of product die on me during or before events, pivot quickly and have substitutions for florals that aren’t available, and allows me to provide the highest quality products for my clients. As I continue to grow and work on larger scale events or sets, creating harmony with colors in a way that is elegant vs. crowded or confusing has been extremely valuable. Lastly, confidence in my designs and choices. When working with several other collaborators it’s important to go into meetings with ideas and flexibility but also standing my ground when it comes to choices, especially in florals, that I know will provide more impact, flow, or just overall better design choice for the project. Staying true to my identity as a designer and artist while balancing the needs of my clients has been key in creating unique designs.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Having the ability to collaborate with other creatives has been the best part of starting my business. I’m always open to learning about ideas, mediums, and ways I can incorporate my skills and mesh them with other artists. A few places that I’d love to learn more about and get involved in would be the film and fashion industry. I’d love to create a runway installation, store display, brand activations or events, or even florals for movies and TV shows.
