Meet Ninoshka M. Vega Arias

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ninoshka M. Vega Arias. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Ninoshka M., thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
The source of my optimism dates back to my childhood in Puerto Rico, when my mom would give me a camera every Christmas. Those moments were magical for me; they filled me with excitement and encouraged me to capture the world with fresh eyes. While my friends played, I would wander through parks and beaches, fascinated by each shot, always seeking beauty in the simple things. Photography became my way of seeing the world with hope, of focusing on the positive and on details that often go unnoticed.

When I decided to launch my photography business on October 12, 2020, that same optimism pushed me to take the risk, even while facing the challenge of being in a different country. Emigrating has not been easy, especially since Spanish is my first language, which has made it harder to grow professionally in a new environment. As a mother of two daughters and the wife of an extraordinary man, every step has been an opportunity for us to learn and grow together.

My love for photography has allowed me to connect with others beyond words. Through my lens, I can capture universal emotions, reminding me that language and cultural barriers cannot hold me back. Every time I look back and see how my business has grown, I feel that little girl with a camera in her hand would be proud.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a photographer passionate about capturing life’s most precious moments, and my business is focused on creating memories that last. I officially launched my photography business on October 12, 2020, but even before bringing it to life, my passion was already there in every stage of my daughters’ lives and within my family. I was always finding opportunities to take photos, documenting each unique moment. One day, I decided to turn that love for photography into something more, and the adventure of creating my business began.

Today, two years later, we have our own studio, a space that feels like my place of peace, where I capture memories for my clients. My services include a variety of sessions, from newborn and maternity to family portraits, business photography, and special events. What excites me most is the chance to tell stories through images, documenting emotions, connections, and beauty.

Our Christmas sessions are now available, bringing an extra layer of magic to the experience. Recently, I’ve been focused on expanding my services to include more special events, like birthdays, and am also working on collaborations with local businesses, such as bookstores. My love for reading drives me to build connections that bring fresh ideas to my photography.

My brand is all about celebrating life’s moments and offering a space where people feel comfortable and seen. I hope my clients feel the love and care I put into every shot, and I look forward to growing alongside them as they trust me with their most precious memories.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been resilience, creativity, and a commitment to continuous learning.

1. Resilience: Starting a business from scratch, especially in a new country and language, has required a lot of resilience. There were many moments of self-doubt, but resilience helped me push through challenges and focus on my goals. For anyone starting out, my advice is to remember that every setback is a chance to grow. Building resilience takes time, but it’s essential to keep moving forward and see challenges as learning experiences.

2. Creativity: Creativity is at the heart of photography, and it’s what makes each session unique. I’ve learned that creativity isn’t just about the photos I take but also about finding new ways to connect with clients and make each experience special. To develop this skill, experiment often, be curious, and look for inspiration everywhere—from nature, art, books, or even everyday moments. Let your creativity drive your passion, and don’t be afraid to take risks.

3. Continuous Learning: Finally, a commitment to continuous learning has been key. From refining my technical skills to learning about marketing and client relations, I’m always looking for ways to improve. For those starting out, I’d say invest in yourself, whether it’s through classes, certifications, or just studying others in your field. Photography—and any business, really—is always evolving, so staying curious and open to learning will help you adapt and grow.

Each of these qualities has shaped my journey, and I hope others find inspiration in them to guide their own paths.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am definitely looking for folks to partner and collaborate with! I believe that collaboration can lead to amazing creative projects and help us reach new audiences. I’m particularly interested in working with local businesses such as bookstores, children’s boutiques, event planners, and other family-oriented services. These collaborations could include joint events, special photography packages, or promotional campaigns that highlight our shared values and goals.
