Meet Nishia T. Slater

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nishia T. Slater. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nishia T. below.

Nishia T. , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from the moments I thought I wouldn’t make it, but did. I remember a time in my life when everything seemed to be falling apart, personal setbacks, professional disappointments, and seasons of self-doubt that left me questioning if I could keep going. I sat in those moments, feeling the weight of it all, and realized that I had a choice: to let it break me or to let it build me.

I chose to rise. I drew inner strength from my purpose, from the vision I had for my life, and from knowing that the women who looked to me for guidance were counting on me to lead with courage. Each time I faced fear or failure, I learned to lean into my strength, to trust that every setback was a stepping stone toward something greater. Resilience, I’ve learned, isn’t about never falling, it’s about rising differently, stronger, and wiser each time. It’s about taking every challenge and turning it into fuel to grow, to empower, and to show others that they, too, can rise.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I help women leaders reclaim their confidence, overcome burnout, and build sustainable resilience so they can show up fully in their personal and professional lives. What excites me most about this work is witnessing those “aha” moments—the shift when a woman realizes that she can lead with power, clarity, and balance without sacrificing her well-being. There’s something incredibly special about guiding women to reconnect with their inner strength and watch them step into their full potential with courage and conviction.

Through my brand, I combine leadership resilience coaching, consulting, keynote speaking, strategic guidance, and immersive experiences like workshops and retreats, all designed to help women not just survive, but thrive. Right now, I’m especially thrilled about my 6-week Leadership Resilience Workshops, where participants engage in a deep, transformative journey to strengthen their mindset, overcome limiting beliefs, and develop practical strategies to lead with confidence, balance, and resilience in every area of life.

Beyond workshops, I provide consulting for organizations and teams, helping leaders nurture resilient cultures and actionable strategies that drive performance and well-being. As a keynote speaker, I share insights, stories, and actionable tools to inspire audiences to rise stronger, lead with purpose, and embrace their fullest potential.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are resilience, self-awareness, and strategic vision.

Resilience shaped me through moments when everything seemed to fall apart. I remember a period early in my business when I faced multiple setbacks. Projects that didn’t succeed, opportunities that slipped away, and personal challenges that felt overwhelming. In those moments, I had a choice: give up or rise differently. Choosing to persevere, even when it was hard, taught me that resilience isn’t about avoiding failure, it’s also about learning from it, adapting, and using each challenge as fuel for growth.

Self-awareness became my compass. I had to confront my own doubts, fears, and limitations in order to grow. One pivotal moment came when I realized I was taking on too much and spreading myself too thin, which was causing burnout. By reflecting on my patterns, seeking feedback, and setting intentional boundaries, I gained clarity on what truly mattered and how I could show up most effectively.

Strategic vision allowed me to see beyond the immediate struggles and imagine the life and impact I wanted to create. When I started designing my leadership resilience workshops and coaching programs, I had to think long-term about the outcomes I wanted for the women I serve. This clarity helped me take bold steps, make intentional choices, and navigate risks with confidence, knowing each move was aligned with my larger purpose.

My advice for those early in their journey: embrace challenges as opportunities to build resilience, reflect deeply to cultivate self-awareness, and hold a clear vision for your path forward. These qualities won’t develop overnight, but consistently investing in them will provide a strong foundation for meaningful growth, lasting impact, and empowered leadership.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes, I am always open to meaningful partnerships and collaborations that align with my mission of helping women leaders reclaim their confidence, overcome burnout, and build sustainable resilience. I’m especially interested in working with organizations, nonprofits, and companies that are committed to leadership development, mental health, workplace well-being, and women’s empowerment. These collaborations could include facilitating workshops, leadership retreats, or team coaching programs designed to help individuals and teams recover from burnout, strengthen resilience, and perform at their best.

I also seek partnerships with event planners, conferences, and brands that want to provide their audiences with transformative experiences. This can include keynote speaking, interactive sessions, or curated programs that equip participants with practical tools and strategies to thrive without sacrificing their well-being. Additionally, I collaborate with speakers, coaches, and thought leaders who share a passion for creating impact, addressing burnout, and fostering growth, whether through co-hosted events, joint programs, or content collaborations.
