We caught up with the brilliant and insightful N’kole Bryant a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
N’kole, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.
I persist by standing tall, with a clear vision of who I am, and I know my worth. I acquired a warrior spirit and an unbroken survivor’s soul when I went through my battle with triple negative breast cancer. If cancer could not put out my fire nor can a hater/nay-sayer either. My spirit does not allow haters/nay-sayers to dictate anything about me, or even think that they can put fear into any of my plans.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As a passionate Film Producer, I specialize in documentaries that bring compelling stories to life, offering both enjoyment and enlightenment to my audience. My work as a multimedia journalist allows me to weave captivating narratives that ignite the imagination through both words and visuals.
I am the proud owner and founder of WarriorQueen, an organization that epitomizes strength, courage, and advocacy. Our mission is to empower women, especially those facing the challenges of breast cancer diagnoses and survivorship, helping them discover their inner WarriorQueen.
WarriorQueen was born from my personal battle with triple-negative breast cancer in 2019. This journey inspired me to educate others about breast cancer and its complexities, while also advocating for myself, fellow survivors, fighters, and their caregivers. Through WarriorQueen, I strive to provide a beacon of hope and a platform for voices that need to be heard.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities that I find the most impactful for me in my journey are, empowerment, courage, and endurance:
Empowerment is an active choice to trust yourself in a way you never deemed possible.
Courage bridges dreams and reality, and it’s also the audacity to delve into the unknown and trust yourself and skills.
Endurance is that quiet heroism, that superhero inside that will step and stand ten toes down when obstacles arise.
You have to go for what you know and believe what is true for you in your heart, mind, and soul when it comes to this thing called life. Your journey is just that, yours! If you are early in your journey you have to stay encouraged. Surround yourself with the ones who consistently encourage & empower you to be great when you need it. You also will need to build and continue to build upon your endurance because as soon as you believe you have this part of the journey down; here comes a wrench or a kitchen sink to “test your might”.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
As a matter of fact, I am looking for people from the community and beyond who are just as passionate as I am about the healthcare in our community to collaborate and/or partner with. Spreading awareness about breast cancer, especially triple negative breast cancer, and mental health amongst women is my goal and dream. I am hosting my 2nd annual breast cancer event this October, WarriorQueen’s 2nd Annual Mammos & Margs. I would love to connect with people who would like to share knowledge, donate because this is an event, set up vendor booths, etc.
I am also working on a book and soon a script about my journey from breast cancer to film producer. I want to share my story with the world, and my fight was something that I feel will encourage many not to give up and to continue to fight for their lives.
