Meet Noah Fabray

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Noah Fabray. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Noah below.

Hi Noah, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism comes directly from the young me. I have always been someone who dreams big and doesn’t allow failure to keep me down. Generally, I’m a go-getter and don’t mind feeling uncomfortable.

I remember someone saying that you can’t grow when you’re comfortable, and that keeps the fire going even when I’m doing something risky or scary at first.

My life as an artist and entrepreneur has never been easy. In a way, I’m grateful for these trials and tribulations because they force me to evolve constantly.

Optimism isn’t a feeling: it’s a lifestyle for me. Yes, I have bad days where I want to stay in bed, but I don’t allow that to become normal. I throw a quick pity party, take a walk, and pull myself together.

Self-health and mental health are VERY important. Don’t work to the point you burn out. Take breaks, do some online shopping, and drink plenty of iced coffee: I promise you’ve got this. Rome was not built in a day.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a creative being in all ways. As an artist, I try to use my gifts each day of my life. Even if it’s just performing for my cat, I love making music and singing.

I’m a homebody. I work from home, try to stay out of people’s business, and do my thing. My art is when I’m able to be an extrovert.

Besides that, I’m pretty quiet and love to be with my family and take plenty of fun vacations.

I think there’s a bit of a public “persona” people might see me as, but I’m much less high-maintenance. I’m only a nightmare on the weekends!

Being over the top and just giving people what they want is my favorite feeling. Getting glam, whipping my hair around, and making music people want to hear is so fun.

I get to be myself for a career, and I think that’s pretty f^cking awesome.

For those reading this who are on the fence about leaving their 9-5 and going independent: DO IT.

Yes, it’s hard at first, but it’s worth the struggle once you taste a bit of success and love from fans.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities that kept me afloat when starting all this would be perseverance, goal setting, and dreaming big.

I love to make small goals and get massively excited when I meet them. Keeping your accomplishments spaced out is sometimes better because you can enjoy each one.

I try and set myself up for mini-successes and turn those into larger ones. If a song hits 1,000 streams, I celebrate it just as much as I do when one hits a million.

When I get a magazine feature, I cherish it just as much as when a random fan reposts me. It’s the little things, people!

Don’t take a day for granted. I love life, and I want to be a good person in a sea of BLEH. Grey skies don’t exist in my little delusional world.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
My current headache is trying to find time for everything I’m doing. I’m the type of person to take on 200 things at once and then die inside.

However, I give myself a “hell week” each month when I get the worst part of my workload done and then take a few days off.

It’s hard to balance work-home life when you stay home to work. I’ve blurred the lines and am actively trying to UNBLUR them.

Everyone needs a day off. I am constantly reminding myself of this.
