Meet Noah Jesse

We were lucky to catch up with Noah Jesse recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Noah with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
In college when my friends would come over, it wouldn’t be your typical chill on the couch and watch anime. Although we did plenty of that, at a certain point the power of music creation had sucked me in. I’d be sitting in my studio morphing new sounds with every waking moment from 4pm-3am then I’d get up for class at 8am again and do it all over again. Going to music school for 4 years helped me become a musician. I was able to have time to shed, something I fell in love with.

Music is hardly work, but at a certain point friends started pointing out that all I do is constantly grind when I barely even noticed. It reminded me of my parents. 2 people who will always be the 2 loudest in the room. 2 people with schedules that never end. Albeit, self-inflicted entering the music industry has done the same to me. As an independent artist and producer, I moved out to LA to continue my work and start a music publishing and production company. Work ethic wasn’t forced upon me, but given by my parents and for that I’ll always thank them.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Noah Jesse is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, audio engineer and entrepreneur. Lookwithin Music is the child of Noah’s love for meditation, mindfulness, and music.

In today’s new music industry, it is possible for independent artists to set themselves up to make more money than ever before. You can collect your own royalties and with Lookwithin we aim to be the most artist friendly label ever.

The caveat is that me and my other producer are only looking for artists who can sing and play an instrument. We want artists who are ready to take their craft to the next level. Using the knowledge of the industry and songwriting to assist the artist in smooth release strategies. Not only this, but Lookwithin will look to help push your music through ads and playlisting.

Another focus is building our brand and community around Lookwithin in sunny LA. With an emphasis on human connection and self-inquiry, Lookwithin hosts events in nature to be a quiet space for those who have extremely busy lives.

Lookwithin has a YouTube channel https://youtube.com/@lookwithinproductions363?si=dLigaCe1uhwKoa91

As well as podcast! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkvVsp6KWwRvyIbp6zds3Jh52zK1bm0zy&si=LkmP7CY58njUx8Vy

We also assist artists in other needs as necessary including: live musicians, music video production, budgeting, radio play, etc.

Lookwithin is a more than a company. It is a call to action. One that I embody and hope to share with others.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Patience, perseverance and open-mindedness.

Open-mindedness: never allow what you believe is cringe to dictate what you decide.

Example: a kid in college was making emo punk rock and my roomate didn’t want to let him play at a show I had already invited him to. This led to losing that relationship. He went on to become viral on TikTok and Spotify and is now touring.

Should I have stood up to my roomate and told him to open his mind? Perhaps, which leads to me to my next skill.

Perseverance: the only certainty is that we will eventually die. With that knowledge, anything imaginable is in reach within this lifetime, as long as you believe. With that belief, at every crushing blow or hurtful gesture you will continue on into your path. Unwavering passion is certainty helpful, and I thank music for being such a loving outlet to continuously allow for self-growth.

You must never give up. And continue to believe.

Patience is a different type of belief. A belief and trust that life will continue, and things will get completely. Patience is understanding processing speed, of an individual, computer or society. There is a stillness in us when we practice patience, almost as a pond. And when a rock is thrown in the pond maybe it bounces once, maybe twice. And it makes a splash! A splash that immediately goes away and reveals the underlying stillness of the pond.

This patience, I did not always have. Learning it was the best journey of my life, one that I continue on.

Be still. Be aware. Be open.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Music is only one disciple of art, and I am truly a lover of all modes and forms of art. If you are looking to be a part of a community in LA of leaders and spiritual teachers then please reach my on Instagram @zzz.noah or email! [email protected]

I am a composer as well, and can write for any type of ensemble. I also make electronic and microtonal music under a pseudonym. I would love to get more active and assist anyone in sound needs. Whether it is creation or reinforcement, I have the equipment, tools, team and knowledge to do so!

Lastly, once again a plug for my music and production! https://open.spotify.com/artist/0DzVoNpNKTKtznchtd8KIn?si=B9Kjp93TStiL1wpTxYQ2jw

Looking to work with artists that believe they are next up, and want to invest in themselves instead of signing with a label! Here at Lookwithin we collect royalties for you and take a small percentage all while helping you get the final deliverables in house with our team. Keeping the cost as long as you need it to be and making the best music possible for a world that desperately needs healing NOW.

This call to action to Look Within calls onto wealthy and intellectuals across the world to start thinking about what really matters.
