Meet Noe Najera

We recently connected with Noe Najera and have shared our conversation below.

Noe, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I would say I definitely get my work ethic from my mother. Ive seen first hand how you can change your life and create literal miracles when you put your all into your work. My mother came to this country with almost nothing and created this blessed and joyous life that my family now get to enjoy because of her hard work.

Ive always known my dreams and goals are big. But if my mom can go from living in a town with no running water to owning a house here ,running a business. I can do anything because I am my mothers child.

I would also like to add that my circumstances growing up definitely fuel my drive and work ethic. I began dancing at age 18. I knew it was a late time to start . I knew if i wanted to get my goals I would have to work hard. Life although great now wasn’t always this way. and because of that & choosing this career I knew I would not have it easy. But again I also knew I could do anything if i really wanted it. So here i am.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a dancer but recently I am transitioning more into the choreographer and creative director side. On top of that I also teach Classes all over LA. I truly believe that dance ,art in general, can heal and help people grow even if they don’t pursue it as a career. I want to use dance to help people like it did me. I myself suffer from anxiety and low self esteem but dance has helped me incredibly. Which i why ANYTIME I am in charge I make sure to create an environment; where everyone feels welcomed; they feel safe to voice their concerns or struggles, and just have an amazing experience where they feel like they matter. Ive seen my students or dancers completely change from being insecure to incredibly confident people. In the studio and out.and that to me means Im doing something right and accomplishing my mission.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I would definitely say stay focused, be kind, & be confident.

Its so easy for people to project their insecurities on to you. For them to make you to question if you can even do it. You can but you need to stay focused and keep working towards your goal one step at a time.

Be kind to everyone. Doesn’t matter what their position is. You need a service they offer so you treat them like equals. Never know where a connection could lead as well.

And sometimes people are gonna heavily doubt you but if you truly believe in something you created you cannot waver in your confidence. Trust your gut it will never lead you wrong.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
Finances .This has also been a challenge all my life coming from humble beginnings. You don’t always need money to create or dance but realistically it can help you tremendously bring your art to life or help you take more classes to grow.

For this I would say Network and collaborate. Finding other in your similar situation. Im a big believer that you grow together from the ground up! So build a good network of creatives in all areas. You never know when it will come in handy.
