We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Noelle Donaldson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Noelle, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I’ve always loved coming up with ideas and editing videos—it’s always been a creative outlet for me. When I got my dog Tokyo in 2021, I realized I could combine my passion for creating videos with my love for dogs. It was the perfect way to bring joy to others while doing something I truly enjoy.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a content creator on Instagram, where I share funny and relatable videos featuring my three-year-old Samoyed, Tokyo. Creating content with Tokyo is a ton of fun because it allows me to bring his personality to life in ways that resonate with our audience. I love crafting unique “personalities” for Tokyo that showcase his playful, expressive nature, making him feel like a character everyone can connect with.
It’s incredibly rewarding to see how our content brings smiles to people’s faces and fosters a sense of community among dog lovers. We’re constantly exploring new ideas to keep things fresh and engaging, and I’m excited to continue building connections through our shared love for dogs and laughter.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most impactful qualities in my journey have been creativity, community, and consistency. Creativity allows for endless ideas and concepts, helping you stand out and keep things fresh. Community is essential—connecting with others who share your passion lets you learn, grow, and support one another. Lastly, consistency is key; staying dedicated ensures you keep improving and building momentum.
My advice for those early in their journey is to embrace patience. It can take time to find your niche, build your community, and grow your accounts. Don’t get discouraged—everyone’s path is unique, and success doesn’t happen overnight.”

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
This year, my friends and I created a small group of Black pet content creators where we share ideas, support each other’s content, and regularly strategize. Having this support in such a niche space has been incredibly inspiring because we relate to one another’s experiences. Though it’s a small group, the sense of community and shared understanding has been invaluable in helping me overcome challenges and continue growing. Huge shout out to @Cody_taurus and @Keanu_cj!
