We were lucky to catch up with Noeun Peang recently and have shared our conversation below.
Noeun, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
From a young age, I immersed myself in dance and various physical activity classes, which helped me connect with my body and build a sense of confidence through movement. I also began practicing public speaking—sometimes by recording myself on camera, other times by volunteering to speak during group gatherings at church. These early experiences helped me become more comfortable expressing myself and strengthened my voice.
As I entered my teenage years, I pursued modeling classes and joined photography groups, which deepened my understanding of body awareness, posing, and feminine expression. Modeling taught me how to move with intention and embrace my femininity with grace and confidence. I continued to grow through consistent dance practice, exercise, and creative exploration.
Eventually, my passion began to shift—I found myself more drawn to working behind the scenes. I started studying film makeup and discovered a love for helping others feel beautiful and empowered. I realized I could blend everything I had learned—movement, style, confidence, and creativity—into a new path: guiding others in their own feminine expression, teaching styling, and sharing the art of makeup in a way that uplifts and inspires.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
After working as a makeup artist for over 15 years, I decided to expand my expertise into esthetics to offer my clients a more holistic beauty experience. For the past four years, I’ve specialized in facial treatments, lash extensions and lifts, as well as brow lamination and tinting. These services allow me to enhance natural beauty while helping my clients feel confident and radiant.
What truly excites me about this work is the transformation—not just physically, but emotionally. When someone walks away from my studio feeling empowered, relaxed, and beautiful, it reminds me why I love what I do.
Currently, I’m partnering with a Registered Nurse who is both a mentor and collaborator as we move into the next phase of our journey: expanding into medical aesthetics and wellness. Our goal is to offer med spa facials, weight loss treatments, and IV therapy services that support our shared passion for helping people look and feel youthful, vibrant, and healthy from the inside out.
I’m always eager to connect with highly skilled professionals, especially nurse practitioners who share a vision for beauty and wellness. I’m also passionate about mentoring and sharing my knowledge with others who want to grow in this ever-evolving industry.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
First and foremost, creativity has always been at the heart of what I do. Embracing creative thinking—not just in the artistic sense, but in how I approach challenges, client needs, and new opportunities—has allowed me to grow and evolve in this industry. For anyone starting out, I’d encourage nurturing your creativity by staying curious, experimenting, and never being afraid to try something new, even if it feels outside the box.
Secondly, I genuinely enjoy being around people. I love learning about different personalities and discovering what makes each person unique. That human connection is powerful—it allows me to bring out the best in others, highlighting their natural beauty and confidence. For those early in their journey, work on your communication and empathy. Listen more than you speak, and practice seeing people beyond the surface.
Lastly, having vision—the ability to see potential, both in people and in ideas—has guided so many of my decisions. Whether it’s visualizing a final look or imagining where my business could grow, holding that sense of purpose and possibility is everything. My advice? Set intentions, visualize success, and believe in the bigger picture, even when you’re just taking the first steps.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
One of the most impactful things my mother did for me was lead by example through her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. She had a gift for sewing and often made clothing and costumes, which inspired me to start designing pieces of my own. That early exposure to fashion and hands-on creativity planted the seed for something greater.
When I turned 19, she encouraged me to take it further. She suggested I sell my designs and even offered to loan me money to start a business. Her original idea was to open a dry cleaning shop—something that didn’t quite align with my passion—but the gesture lit a spark in me. It pushed me to think differently about my future and gave me the motivation to build something on my own terms.
Instead of going the dry cleaning route, I poured my energy into fashion. I began selling my designs to local boutiques in Lake Elsinore, which helped me earn enough to eventually open my own boutique in Moreno Valley. Her stories, support, and unwavering belief in entrepreneurship have shaped the businesswoman I am today and continue to fuel my passion for creativity and independence.
