Meet Notorio 718

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Notorio 718. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Notorio below.

Notorio, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Being that I was raised by a single mother, my resilience comes from her. At times she would work 2 to 3 jobs at a time. She never complained and did everything she could for me and my brothers. She’s the strongest person I know. She always preached to never quit. There is no such thing as can’t and there is no problem that cannot be conquered.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I was raised in The Bronx, New York. Currently I live in Europe. Sweden to be exact. In my early life, I took to the streets like most kids in my environment. But through the grace of the almighty I was able to turn it around, which led me into music. Music became a form of therapy, something of an escape. I started off doing hip hop. But a couple years ago I decide to tap into my Dominican roots and do a song in Spanish. The song was well received and I decided to stay in that lane for the time being.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
First and foremost in anything you do learn as much as you can about that craft, especially the business side. Always apply yourself, consistency is key and never give up. Don’t get caught up in what others are doing, stay at your pace. But never stop moving. It’s better to always take baby steps than to remain stagnant. Aim high and don’t let anyone destroy your dreams. Sometimes we ask for individuals opinions, but don’t forget people tend to reflect their insecurities on others. Just because they are afraid to fail or might have failed, does not mean you will.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My environment has been the most helpful. Struggle creates strength, strength creates discipline and discipline creates success. Hard work and obsession will always trump natural abilities..
