We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nour Awada a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Nour, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
When people ask me where my resilience comes from, I always think of four things: my roots, my motivation, my mindset, and the love of my family. Honestly, it’s not something I ever analyzed, it’s something life taught me.
My roots: Being Lebanese who moved to Germany for a short period, then to the U.S. forced me to adapt quickly. Instead of trying to “belong” perfectly in one place, I learned how to belong in different worlds. Coming from a different background and culture could have easily felt like a weakness, but I chose to see it as my strength. It gave me a wider perspective, a deeper understanding of people, and the ability to adjust when life changes. That experience made me flexible, and that flexibility is a big part of my resilience.
My motivation: As a mom who had passion to start a career, I found that running a blog isn’t just posting pictures and videos; it’s sharing pieces of myself and life around it. When people reach out saying, “This helped me” or “I feel seen,” it reminds me why I do what I do and keeps me going. I’m also the founder of We Decorate – You Celebrate, and stepping into entrepreneurship has pushed my motivation even further and strengthened my resilience.
My mindset: Resilience isn’t heroic. It’s small, daily choices: taking breaks when I need them, letting myself fail, asking for help, and remembering why I started this: To help people, inspire them, and show them how they can improve and enrich their lives.
My family: A huge part of my strength comes from my family whether its from my parents who raised me to be strong and independent, my husband who supports me in each and every step, or my kids who show love and support in each and every step. Their love, proudness and support give me courage on tough days and remind me I’m never alone.
So where does my resilience come from? From my past, from my purpose, from the people who believe in me, and from the love that surrounds me, giving me the courage to keep moving forward every day.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a lifestyle and family content creator based in Atlanta, and my work is really about connection. Through my blog and social media, I share pieces of my life, from cooking and travel to family adventures, with the goal of inspiring others and showing people how small changes or experiences can enrich their everyday lives. Along with my content creation, I also run We Decorate – You Celebrate, my event-decor and balloon styling business, which lets me bring a little extra joy to people’s celebrations.
What excites me most about content creation is seeing how people engage with it. When someone messages me saying, “This inspired me,” or “This made my day special,” it reminds me that what I’m doing has a real impact. That connection, that sense of community, is what makes it special.
I’m always exploring new ways to bring value to my audience, whether it’s through new content ideas, creative collaborations, or highlighting brands and products I truly love. Right now, I’m focused on expanding my work into more interactive experiences and projects that inspire families and individuals to live fully and intentionally.
At the heart of it, my brand is about authenticity, creativity, and sharing life in a way that encourages others to embrace their own stories.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three things have shaped my journey the most: adaptability, empathy, and consistency. Being Lebanese who moved to Germany for a short period, then to the U.S. taught me how to navigate different spaces and adapt when things feel unfamiliar. I learned that you don’t have to belong perfectly in one place to find your strength, and that flexibility is key to resilience.
Connecting with people has also been important to my work. Through my lifestyle and family content, I see how sharing my story can help, inspire, or uplift others. Empathy became not just a skill, but the heart of everything I do.
Finally, I realized that showing up consistently, even on days when I don’t feel perfect or motivated, is what makes a real difference. Small daily actions, creating content, engaging with my audience, trying new ideas build trust, momentum, and impact over time.
For anyone starting out, my advice is simple: stay flexible, care about others, and keep showing up. Those three things together will carry you farther than you might expect.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
I’ll spend time with my family as much as I can. I’d keep documenting our lives, not for a brand, but so my family and kids can feel our love, see how we laughed, how we celebrated, how we stayed close.
I’ll teach my kids how to be strong and independent to face this life as if I’m by their side.
Most importantly, I’d stay close to God praying, trusting, and being grateful for every single day. My faith gives me peace and perspective, and I’d want it at the center of every choice I make.
I’d say yes to the things that make my heart full, letting go of things that don’t, and being intentional with my time.
Because if I only had ten years, I’d want them full of moments that really count: love, laughter, faith, and memories that last long after I’m gone.
