Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nubia Martin del Campo . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Nubia , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
In 2019, my life underwent significant changes. I entered my second marriage, creating a blended family. Additionally, my second son was born, marking a new chapter. Relocating to a different country meant adjusting to a new home. Simultaneously, my eldest son, who was then 9 years old, faced challenges as he switched schools and adapted to a new environment—leaving behind his old friends and his status as an only child, now having a stepfather as well. Amidst these changes, my husband and I initiated a business venture. Unexpectedly, the pandemic emerged, bringing forth the era of social distancing and global uncertainty. The absence of family support intensified the stress I felt.
However, I am not one to remain idle. Supported by my husband, who has been my greatest advocate, I chose to utilize the confinement period to pursue a specialization in Holistic Nutrition. As I delved into my studies, my life gradually transformed. Embracing a new lifestyle, I observed positive shifts both emotionally and physically. I savored the sensations of health and vitality, experiencing a renewed self-confidence. This journey not only impacted me but radiated positivity to those around me. I discovered a newfound purpose that prompted me to extend my positive influence to others.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Upon completing my studies in Holistic Nutrition, I immediately embarked on a specialization in Detoxification Protocols and pursued a master’s degree in functional nutrition. This journey deepened my passion for issues concerning a higher quality of life and well-being.
Recognizing the delicate balance between human responsibility for our own health and the challenges posed by the modern age rife with toxins, I was inspired to take action. Ingested through our food, absorbed from the water we drink, inhaled from the air we breathe, and even introduced via substances applied to our skin, toxins have become an inescapable presence. Additionally, prescribed medications further contribute to our exposure.
This stark reality compelled me to establish a practice dedicated to educating and guiding individuals on navigating this toxin-laden landscape. I am committed to equipping people with the knowledge and strategies necessary to counteract these challenges, thus enabling them to lead healthier lives within this potentially harmful environment. Central to my approach is the emphasis on regular body cleansing, steering individuals away from practices that contribute to pollution, and fostering a sustainable commitment to overall well-being.
My approach is two-fold: I impart these invaluable tools through interactive group workshops and personalized one-on-one consultations.
Throughout the year, I oversee and facilitate three vital detox programs designed to empower those who choose to partake. The first focuses on cleansing the digestive system, the second on the targeted purification of the liver, and the third on enhancing kidney function—these organs being the primary agents of bodily purification.
In essence, my mission is to empower individuals with the knowledge to proactively safeguard their health, and I do so by sharing techniques that can be integrated seamlessly into their daily lives. Through education and practical application, my aim is to foster a community of individuals who possess the tools necessary to achieve and maintain a state of optimal well-being.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
At this stage of my life, I find myself nurturing three essential qualities: self-knowledge, action, and embracing life without rigid balance.
Firstly, self-knowledge has been an inward journey demanding courage and unwavering commitment. At 43 years old, I’ve traversed numerous life stages, each revealing that I am in a state of constant evolution. This realization has taught me to adapt and embrace change—a lesson I’ve grown adept at navigating. Central to this journey is my evolving relationship with myself; I’ve cultivated self-love and compassion, letting go of self-sabotage. This ongoing effort to be present has allowed me to unearth my strengths, acquire new skills, leverage them to accomplish my aspirations, and extend their benefits to others.
Secondly, the drive to take action propels my growth. My thirst for knowledge remains unquenchable; I’m a perpetual learner. In my domain of health-related matters, staying informed is paramount. Yet, knowledge alone isn’t enough—it must be translated into action. The true assimilation of wisdom happens when it’s put into practice. Transitioning from the comfort of being a dedicated student to initiating workshops was daunting. However, I grasped that if happiness and my goals were to be achieved, confronting fears was pivotal. Action was the antidote. Overcoming apprehension by directly confronting what intimidated me led to the nourishment of my confidence and sense of security.
Lastly, the understanding that life’s equilibrium often eludes perfect balance has been enlightening. I play several roles: Nubia, woman, wife, mother, entrepreneur, daughter, sister, teacher, cook, nutritionist, and sometimes even an impromptu psychologist. These multifaceted roles can induce pressure to find equilibrium, a feat not always feasible. I’ve made peace with this realization. Life is an ever-shifting landscape, and perfect balance is not always attainable, and that’s alright. Acknowledging this truth has enabled me to coexist harmoniously with life’s fluctuations. Engaging in consistent spiritual practice has been invaluable, allowing me to dance with life’s diverse rhythms. Embracing the ebb and flow, acknowledging that sometimes you’re up, other times down, or perhaps somewhere in between, demonstrates that life’s tapestry has no single thread of experience. Through mindfulness and acceptance, I navigate the journey without judgment, embracing life as it unfolds.
In essence, my present journey is one of continuous evolution—nurturing self-knowledge, taking purposeful action, and harmonizing with life’s dynamic shifts. These qualities weave a tapestry that defines my path, encapsulating growth, transformation, and an unwavering embrace of life’s unpredictable beauty.
Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
I am presently undergoing an emotional detox, recognizing that toxins that affect not only our bodies and organs but also our overall health, do not solely originate from our diet, the air we breathe, or the personal care products we use daily. The stress induced by intense life situations can deeply impact us both physically and emotionally.
The repercussions of negative emotions first revealed themselves in my health, an issue I remained unaware of until a persistent bout of insomnia and unremitting headaches plagued me for five consecutive months. Leveraging my holistic knowledge, I sought remedies via alternative therapies—ranging from massages, acupuncture, and yoga to meditation and chiropractic treatments. I even embraced an anti-inflammatory diet. Though some respite was achieved, my condition progressively deteriorated. Neurologists prescribed antidepressants, an option I declined as it failed to address the underlying problem.
My perspective shifted when my family and I embarked on a month-long journey away from our familiar surroundings. This period provided the space to emotionally disconnect and extricate myself from the stress imposed by a job that weighed heavily on me and an environment that did not align with my values or garner respect. It became evident that negative emotions and chronic stress had precipitated damage to my cervical region, inducing brain inflammation and ceaseless headaches. I continued my pursuit of alternative therapies, focusing on platelet-rich plasma treatment directly applied to the afflicted area while complementing these efforts with a health-conscious lifestyle.
At times, we might vigilantly monitor our diet, selecting only the finest quality foods and employing the most natural products, while also engaging in regular exercise, and maintaining adequate hydration. However, if we are grappling with emotional distress, the ensuing stress can be so detrimental that it materializes as physical illness.
A pivotal lesson derived from this ordeal is the growth that accompanies personal development and resilience. Transformative experiences, including negative ones, can be harnessed for growth. Expressing gratitude for the positives in my life, setting boundaries, and embracing a life liberated from undue stress emerged as crucial takeaways. I learned to live more fully, fostering improved familial dynamics and practices.
