Meet Nubia Ramos

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nubia Ramos a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Nubia, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

I think it’s all based on valuing and accepting people’s qualities, including your own.

When you analyze your virtues, work on your defects and begin to believe in yourself, everything shines, we should not try to be a brighter source of light than others, we should seek to be the purest and most incredible source of light within its own qualities.

After all, the sky shines not only with the moon, it also needs the stars, to be a whole.
My recommendation is to believe in yourself, be your best fan, there will always be negative comments or people who underestimate you, the goal is for your belief in yourself to be bigger than that.

Let the results speak for themselves!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am the founder and creative director of my own Branding/Marketing and graphic design agency in general.

Currently we have been almost 6 years since we began to share our creativity and creative solutions throughout our country of origin, Venezuela and currently to the rest of the world, including the USA.

The most exciting part of this project is the connection you achieve with different types of people, listening to their purposes, goals, dreams, that incredible energy of wanting to grow and improve.
Connecting and being part of people’s projects is fantastic, each person is a different world and that is perfect.

Our strength is brand design, visual identity, and that is the beginning or evolution (in the case of renovations) of any brand, being in those moments in someone else’s projects, leaving your art captured there and that it is not just good but functional, it is everything.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

When I look back, almost 6 years ago, I think that discipline, passion and perseverance have been the fundamental pillars on this path.
Being successful is not only having a lot of money, but it is also being happy and pleased with what you do. When you consider a project, you must analyze it and if the results are positive (long or short term) then you must consider it and first not expect to have victory on the first try, it is important to be constant, believe, improve every day, reinvent yourself, not throw in the towel at the first failure.
Second, you must be convinced that what you do is for you, that it really is what you want and that you believe in yourself to achieve it.
When you start a path, you know the beginning because it is what you see, but eventually circumstances arise, it is important to use them to your advantage, even when they are not favorable.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

The most important thing and what I value most about my parents is that they have always believed in me.
It sounds romantic, but sometimes it is so common that in our own homes we do not have the support we need most to grow. In my case, from a very young age, my parents always saw me as a victorious person capable of fighting.
They not only believed it, they made me feel it, and that is what allows me, no matter how difficult the circumstances are, to remain calm and believe that everything will be okay and I will know how to handle it successfully.
The topic of believing is powerful, words and the mind have power, you should never miss that great practice.
We are all wonderful, unique and respectable people, whatever our goals in life are.
