Meet Nybriah Gudes

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nybriah Gudes a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

NyBriah , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience initially from mom who I have watched time after time get back up when life’s obstacles came her way. She is the reason I know how to face adversity and view situations in a positive way even when it’s hard. My relationship with God has helped me to know every situation I am faced with it is just another page in my story but not the entire book.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a youth purpose coach working with youth to find the purpose and build their confidence. It’s important to me to see youth excel in life and with the right resources they can and will do just that. I am available to speak at high schools, colleges, conferences, and any event where I can share my story of overcoming life trials with resilience, patience, and determination.

I also have a women’s group where we motivate, build each other up, and encourage each other to not give up but push through when life gets you down. As a life coach and someone who has experienced life in my own way I uplift them to and remind them it’s just a page not the entire book.

Not everyone has been watered the same and some may feel like they haven’t been given the opportunity to grow but my goal is to encourage other people to heal, evolve, acknowledge the problem, learn how to handle it, and share their story by using their new found voice.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Optimism, passion and compassion are the three most important qualities of my journey. As I continue to learn, grow and improve I keep these three qualities within. My advice would be to give yourself grace and when you seem to become discouraged remember why you are going after your dreams. Instead of us becoming defeated, let’s walk, think and talk like the winner we are.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

To look back over life the past 12 months is breathtaking. The reason I say this is because there is so many areas I have grown in but the one that is the most rewarding is my growth in the area of boundaries. I still have the same loving heart that leads me to want to help the entire world but I have learned that putting me first has been a testimony within itself and I have more to give then I have ever had because I’m not only giving it out but making it priority to give it to me as well.
