Meet Nyree Van Maarseveen

We recently connected with Nyree Van Maarseveen and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nyree, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

First, I want to say that I love the fact that this magazine asks questions like this. Thank you for talking about real issues the everyone struggles with.

The simple answer to this question is I stopped abandoning my inner child and started loving myself and being there for myself no matter what, and everything flowed from that. Because if I’m always there for myself, if I love who I am unconditionally, what other people think of me isn’t really all that important.

The more detailed answer involves personal struggles, heartbreaks, lots of work on myself with therapy, healing, EFT, support groups, meditation, self help books, and play, travel, and love.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a nurse practitioner and nurse midwife. I feel so lucky to be able to do two things that I love, and to help women in different ways.

After working at medspas for a few years, I took a leap of faith and opened my own medispa in 2023. There were two main reasons: 1) most medispas are owned by men – while the majority of their employees and customers are women – this imbalance pisses me off! 2) I saw a need in aesthetics for a space that was more than a Botox factory.

My medispa is called Beauty Energy Exchange Aesthetics and Wellness (BEE) because I truly believe that there is an exchange of energy between inner and outer beauty and between myself and my clients. I love aesthetics, I love Botox, I love fillers and what they can do, and, I also know that sometimes they are not the best solution. Now that I have my own space, I have the time to get to know my clients and learn what is going on in their lives, to recommend the best treatment that brings out their inner radiance and meets their goals and budget, and sometimes it means recommending no treatment.

The other thing that drives me is giving back. I was raised by a single mom with three brothers and she still found a way to give to back to people worse off than we were. From her, I learned that we all have an obligation to give back. I regularly hold or sponsor events to raise money for charity – currently I’m focused on donating to charities that benefit senior and shelter dogs, and, organizations focused on women’s health and empowerment.

You can check my website or follow me on IG to find out when and what my next event will be.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The game changers for me have been :

1. heartbreak – when I love, I love hard! which means I fall hard too. But, every break up for me has resulted in me creating an even better life than the one I had with that ex

2. self love

3. Tony Robbins – I know this is where some people will stop reading, and, I would have been one of those people at other times in my life. But, Unleash the Power Within and having a coach are the reasons I stopped working nights as a nurse midwife, started working in aesthetics, opening my own business, and growing my business when I’m overcome by self doubt and fear.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

My vision is to create a center for the community where clients can come for healing and beauty – a one stop shop for all things health and wellness (meditation, reiki, naturopath, acupuncture, hormone balancing, weight loss, massage, therapy, coaching, sound healing, yoga, hair, lashes, makeup, facials, …). I’d love to collaborate with other people with a similar vision.

I’d also love to organize some more events for charity – the one big event I organized and sponsored was called Awaken the Goddess Within and proceeds went to SD Rape Crisis – I had lots of talented women contributing their time and skills – I’d love to grow that, but I need help .
