Meet Olamide Abimbola

We recently connected with Olamide Abimbola and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Olamide, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?

I believe that generosity stems from kindness. I choose to be kind to others because I care deeply about both humanity and nature. Being kind doesn’t cost anything, and I make a conscious effort to show generosity through my actions and to demonstrate empathy towards others.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’ve been in business since 2017, and over the years, I’ve gained invaluable insights into the fashion industry and learned how to grow and manage my brand. As the owner of Lamlux LLC, we design unique fashion pieces that are both stylish and environmentally conscious. Many of my designs reflect my identity as a Nigerian American from Miami—bold, vibrant, and unapologetically stylish. Since launching Lamlux, I’ve been featured twice in Essence magazine, sold over 1,000 pieces, and collaborated with local brands in Miami’s inner city. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue expanding the brand and launching new collections. I’m eager to see where this journey takes me and the powerful woman I’m becoming.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Based on my experience, three tips I would share are: furthering your education, develop a skill you’re passionate about, and always prioritize investing in yourself.
