We were lucky to catch up with Olayinka Elizabeth Adeniji recently and have shared our conversation below.
Olayinka Elizabeth , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I got my resilience drive from my mum. she’s a risk taker, and a goal getter. Overall, I would say she inspired me every single time.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
First all, I want to thank God for giving me this idea. It all started from my living room in 2017.
Before then I have always been a lover of fabrics, colours and helping people make fabric matching decisions. So when 7 years ago I decided to go fully into leveraging on my skill but in another way which is helping soon -to-be-brides, party rockers weave their stories into fabrics called Aso oke.
Here we are are, we have sold our bespoke Aso-oke to different countries. Right now we run online, we are launching line of product soon and also expand.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities that were impactful in my journey, okay
Number 1 would be patience, I am a patient person.
Number 2 is excellent customer service, I treat everyone equally and respectfully regardless who they are.
Number 3 would be resilience, I have had every reasons to give up but not his time anymore.
All these three amazing qualities are the reasons I am still here, doing what I love to do
My advice to people is to keep pushing they don’t have to introduce themselves.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I don’t joke with taking a break.
