We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful OLGA ZHDANOVA. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with OLGA below.
OLGA, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I’m a photographer.
Photography is like a tool for me. My metaphor. And always a reflection. A prism of perception passing between people. Every person who allowed you to look at him through the camera is a sign of trust. What happens between shutter presses is dialogue. But dialogue is not words, but actions. There are different languages that people speak. The most valuable thing we receive is sincerity. The value of photography is in the feelings, in the moment. First of all, ourselves. To achieve this, you must be able to give. This is how I see the creation process.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I photograph people. Regardless of their social status, position in society, physical condition.
My job is to show the beauty of a person, how perfect his body is created by nature itself and conceived by the universe.
I have had the opportunity to work in several countries and have spent the last two years in Sri Lanka. My clients were models and people not associated with the fashion industry. All my photographs are a conveyance of feelings and state of mind.
My portfolio can be seen on the Vogue website https://www.vogue.com/photovogue/photographers/212360.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1) unconditional love for people, empathy
2) study of art in all its directions
3) family, my daughter, my loved ones
It’s important to find what you can’t help but do. That thread that guides you and don’t let it go. Only with love can you be sincere towards yourself, and then towards those around you. This is freedom.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
very important support. Even if just one person believes in you, that’s the fuel to not give up.
There is one Russian film, in which the main character asks: “What is the strength, brother?” If I had to answer this question, I would say: “strength is in love and family.”
Family is not only parents, it is the people with whom we surround ourselves, sometimes a family can consist of only two people. I think it’s important not to be alone. Don’t close yourself off from the world, because you are part of it, you are the world.
