Hello Chef Olivia, we’d like to thank you for taking time for this interview. We are very impressed with your work, you are extremely talented and let’s just say, you are making “Bold Moves”. Your journey is so inspiring and you are brilliant. You went from a very successful career as a Television Reporter in the entertainment business to switching careers to the culinary arts world, not everyone can take that leap of faith on themselves and you did it. Your pastries are not only a masterpiece but the word is out, they’re delicious. What gave you the courage to make that career move?
I’m thrilled to be here, thank you for the interview and your kind words! I am someone who likes taking risks. I remember my mom used to always say “Those who will not risk, cannot win” and she still says that until this day.
I am always going to bet on myself. It’s never too late to start anything in life. If you believe in yourself, you’re already ahead of the game. I’ve always been an adventurer. I love projects, new challenges and I love to explore new things. I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to start another career from scratch. I worked as a Television Entertainment reporter for 13 years for one of the biggest Spanish TV networks in the US and I feel very proud of all my accomplishments. I retired from a career that I built with lots of sacrifices but I felt in my heart that it was time to close that chapter and start new adventures. It wasn’t about “the job” or “the title” anymore – it was about my peace, my freedom and my happiness as a whole. I am at a very happy and peaceful place in my life. I am grateful for everything in my life and I don’t take anything for granted. I love what I do and I’m happy. I’m really enjoying the process. There is no race here, I am not competing with anyone but myself. I’m going at my own pace and overall enjoying this sweet ride called life!
Your cakes have captivated the attention and tastebuds of not only many Angeleno’s but luxury brands and celebrities are noticing and hiring Delicious Minimalist for their corporate events and special day, we have to say that your cakes are beautiful art creations. This is totally a different concept and we’ve never seen such beautiful elegant cake creations. Your work is impressive and impeccable. For folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Thank you, I’m really flattered! I feel extremely thankful for everyone who trust me for their events and special day. From corporate events, weddings, birthday’s, family gatherings, celebrities or simply someone who wants to enjoy a piece of cake, I put the same love and attention to detail into every creation I make. I’m really grateful for everyone who puts their trust in me for their special day.
I am a very expressive person and I like to see people smile, baking gives me an opportunity to express myself through my work and present to someone I haven’t met hoping that when they see and receive my work, they’ll get a smile on their face!
This is a new modern direction in confectionery art which came to the US from the premium pastry shops of France and Italy. These mousse cakes and buttercream cakes are multi-part, very delicate and exquisite cakes coated with premium and high quality Belgium Chocolate. The correct technology is obtained with specific education and which I have graduated from various courses in Italy and France. Our focus is to bring great taste and high quality ingredients and flavors to our clients. All of our cakes are meticulously handcrafted therefore each cake shines on its own uniqueness. As our customers like to say “These creations are edible art”
What do you think makes you a successful business woman?
First of all success for me is overall being happy with yourself. Loving what you do and loving your life.
For me being a female entrepreneur means being a leader, a creator, looking straight ahead and not worrying about the world’s noise. Being a successful business woman means you have to take risks and be fearless in pursuit of your goals. I always focus on the positive and I like to surround myself with people who support me, inspire me and lift me up. I feel like the best way to be successful in general is to be yourself, have confidence in yourself, have a positive outlook and genuinely care about what you do. Success of course comes with hard work, consistency, determination and having a clear vision of what you want. One of my favorite quotes is “Success is not the key to happiness, Happiness is the key to success” with that said, it all starts within, it all starts with you and your mindset, a healthy mindset. But, there has to be a balance between work and life. Over the years I’ve realized what most matters to me is how I spend my time.
Taking care of my well-being, being grateful for everything in my life, staying happy and at peace with myself are my priorities so that I can be the best version of myself in every area and aspect of my life.
Success is not about perfection, it’s about resilience and growth. You have to own your journey and trust your path. With that said, life is short, do what makes you happy and eat the cake!
