Olivia , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

Losing my mom was the hardest thing I’ve ever faced, but it also gave me clarity and purpose I never imagined. She was my biggest cheerleader, always there to remind me that I was capable of so much more than I gave myself credit for. Her faith in me wasn’t just comforting—it was empowering. She had this incredible way of making me believe that no dream was too big and no challenge was impossible.

Now, every step I take feels like I’m carrying a piece of her encouragement with me. She taught me to believe in myself, even when I struggled to see my own potential. Her voice still echoes in my heart, pushing me forward when things get tough and inspiring me to reach for more. I’ve found my purpose in honoring her legacy—by striving to be the best version of myself and chasing the dreams she always knew I could achieve. Her love and belief in me have shaped who I am today, and I carry that with me in everything I do.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

As a social media manager for Tandem Tide and Lakestone Digital Marketing agencies, my work revolves around creating unique, tailored strategies for an incredibly diverse client base. From grocery stores to dentists, pet bedding companies, and restaurants, I craft engaging content that resonates with target audiences. Each industry brings its own challenges and rewards, but the common thread is helping brands tell their story in a way that connects deeply with their customers. There’s nothing quite like seeing a campaign I’ve worked on spark conversation and engagement online.

Beyond that, my role with Explore Monroe at the tourism bureau allows me to shine a light on the hidden gems of Monroe County, Michigan. I attend local events, connect with businesses, and create vibrant content showcasing why this area is a must-see destination. It’s thrilling to help both locals and visitors discover all the wonderful things Monroe has to offer, from its charming downtown spots to its picturesque landscapes.

In addition to these roles, I’m also a licensed realtor specializing in helping first-time homebuyers find their dream homes. Guiding someone through the process of purchasing their first home is incredibly fulfilling, as it’s such a milestone moment in their lives. My goal is to make the experience as stress-free and exciting as it should be.

What excites me most about my work is the variety—it allows me to blend creativity with strategy and connect with people from all walks of life. Whether it’s promoting a small business, inspiring tourism, or helping a family start their next chapter, I strive to bring passion, empathy, and a personal touch to everything I do.

Looking ahead, I’m thrilled about continuing to grow my reach, embrace new clients, and explore opportunities that push the boundaries of what storytelling can achieve. Stay tuned for what’s next!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are empathy, creativity, and adaptability. Empathy has allowed me to connect with people on a deeper level, whether it’s understanding a client’s vision or engaging with an audience in a meaningful way. Creativity has been the driving force behind how I approach challenges, enabling me to develop unique solutions and create content that stands out. Lastly, adaptability has helped me navigate unexpected changes, from managing technical hiccups to switching gears when a project takes a new direction.

For anyone early in their journey, my advice is to focus on self-awareness and growth. Practice empathy by actively listening to others—understanding their perspectives will make you better at collaboration and problem-solving. Sharpen your creativity by exposing yourself to new ideas, whether it’s through books, art, or simply trying things outside your comfort zone. And build adaptability by embracing change instead of fearing it. Life rarely goes as planned, but the ability to pivot gracefully is an invaluable skill. Remember, progress comes from persistence, and each step you take is building your foundation for success.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

When I feel overwhelmed, I try to reconnect with the world around me and ground myself. Spending time in nature is my go-to—I love stepping outside for a walk, feeling the fresh air, and soaking in the calming energy of the outdoors. Yoga is another lifesaver for me. Even just a few gentle stretches or a quick flow helps me reset and find balance. And when everything feels too much, I focus on my breath. Simple breathing exercises—like inhaling for four counts, holding for four, and exhaling for four—work wonders to calm my mind and bring me back to the present moment. It’s all about finding those small, mindful moments that remind you to slow down and take care of yourself.
