Meet Olivia Lawrence

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Olivia Lawrence . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Olivia , so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
I think it’s very important to stay true to yourself. Growing up in school kids were always pointing out that I was the minority. They would say things like “ You’re pretty for a black girl“ or would point out that I was well spoken for a black girl “ this used to infuriate me because people use my skin color too passively aggressively give me backhanded compliments. There is such diversity in being Black. I celebrate it. How I speak included.

It took me several years to realize that I can be the fullness of who I am through the conscious focus.

I learned how to focus on my individual strengths and take my focus off of just being the minority. Although still aware of it. I released the need to prove to anyone that I was “good enough” by simply embracing it. Now that I’m a mother, I think it’s very important to teach my daughter that her diversity is her superpower!

You can choose to look at yourself as the odd man out or the light shining bright in the room by standing out. I personally believe that Black women are incredibly capable of taking up space even if they have to do it one room at a time.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I used to wake up every day, hating my life. Although on the outside, I smiled a lot and was ambitious, I had a lot of trauma and low self-esteem. I felt that everyone else had life all figured out, while I had no sense of direction, and my confidence completely relied on who I was dating. Deep down I had an overwhelming sense of depression and anxiety. I was about 23 when I realized that I was reenacting trauma generationally. I was dating a mentally manipulative narcissist, extremely unhealthy, and emotionally ostracizing from myself from my family. In the midst of this, I kept having intense psychic dreams for the first time since childhood, something l’d been encouraged by well meaning family & friends to suppress when I was younger.

I was taught to pray away bad dreams and go to sleep. I had no idea that my dreams were energies that wanted to be interpreted and understood. But like any muscle in your body when you neglect and ignore it, it doesn’t grow and sometimes it actually can end up hurting you. The dreams that I had in my early 20’s started to manifest in the physical world. Each time I had a dream I would be so scared that I would never try to interpret them.

This was my introduction into truly understanding the nature of what I now know to be my spiritual awakening. My discovery of Tarot was a complete surprise to not only my family but myself as well. It was actually something I accidentally purchased in a zodiac birthday kit for myself. Later it evolved into a Tool to help me understand the nature of my dreams and understand myself.

Through the years I studied Tarot, numerology, and astrology and became obsessed with personal development through the lens of these spiritual practices. I discovered that my self-love journey could be transformational and fun. Now I spend my days sharing my healing experiences and assisting others on their path too!

Our Paths can take us down many roads, I believe in breaking limitations and embracing growth at every step. Helping individuals tap into their highest self and unlock their fullest potential is the goal. The thing I love most about being in the intuitive space is growing my ability to help others and self actualize at the same time. Every session is custom to each soul because no one is exactly like you. I’ve created an online course called The Path, a self guided program for those looking to elevate their ascension journey with one-on-one support!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most beneficial things I’ve learned on my journey have been..

#1. Do what you can with what you have right where you are.

#2. Never discredit the work you put in.

#3. Use your past as a TOOL to heal, not as a way to shame, judge, or repeat negative stories.

Some advice I will give to anybody on the beginning of their journey is, that you are capable of growing your perception of yourself. How you view yourself is what will be mirrored back to you. Not JUST how hard you work..You must combine vision with aligned action to see the prosperity you seek.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m really excited to meet people that are interested in self discovery. Those that are interested in the significance of astrology, and spiritual practices that assist us in leveling up internally.

Souls that love to express their energy in the world! I’m looking to collaborate with those that love to travel and are interested in attending self love retreats around the world. This is my grand vision. I currently have a moon group that I share with monthly! It sounds like you! Let’s cultivate a community together!
