We were lucky to catch up with Olivia Lewandowski recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Olivia, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic really comes from the way I was raised. My parents have been entrepreneurs throughout my entire life; first owning martial arts schools and now running a hair extension salon. Growing up in that environment taught me so much about discipline, resilience, and the rewards of hard work. I have watched them navigate through challenges and continue to show up every day, which has shaped the standard that I now hold myself to. Martial arts had a significant presence in my early childhood, which taught me confidence, commitment, and the value of pushing through discomfort to reach a goal. All of these values and lessons from my childhood are a core part of who I am professionally as a medical aesthetician today. Whether it’s staying up to date with advanced treatments, being detail-oriented in the treatment room, or building the connection and trust with my clients, I have always relied on the values my parents instilled in me at an early age.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a licensed aesthetician and laser technician at Curated Medical in Scottsdale, Arizona. What I love most about the aesthetics industry is how it’s always evolving, and it’s so exciting to stay at the forefront of new technologies and advanced treatments. There is always something new to learn, and as a team, one of our main priorities is bringing the most advanced and effective treatments to our clients so they can feel confident they are receiving the best care possible. My passion as a medical aesthetician is full skin rejuvenation, so I’m genuinely excited about the growing focus on anti-aging and the wide range of rejuvenation treatments I offer.
What truly makes this work special for me goes beyond the treatments themselves. Getting to know my clients, earning their trust, and becoming part of their skincare journey is something I value in my career. Helping my clients feel beautiful and confident in their own skin is incredibly rewarding. Seeing their reactions to their before-and-afters and hearing how it has affected their lives reminds me why I pursued this career in the first place.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are patience, continued education, and strong client communication. Patience in this industry is incredibly important. Developing advanced technical skills, building a strong clientele base, and establishing a well-rounded knowledge base all take time. Stay consistent and be a sponge because there are so many amazing people to learn from. My advice is to give yourself grace and allow time to grow.
With the aesthetics industry constantly evolving, I must also stay up to date and be educated on the latest technology and advanced treatments. Staying educated is not only imperative in this industry, but it’s essential for building confidence when taking care of your own clients. My advice is to take every opportunity to learn; attend trainings, follow trusted educators, and reach out to your reps for more advanced trainings. Strong client communication and practicing active listening is crucial when building a clientele. Making education a top priority with your clients will not only increase their trust in you but also make you a better provider.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is someone who is committed to their skincare journey and wants guidance. I love working with clients who value consistency and understand that meaningful skin rejuvenation treatments take time and are a combination of professional treatments and at-home care. As my main focus right now is skin rejuvenation, I particularly love working with more mature clients who are ready to address changes in their skin and want a long-term personalized treatment plan to keep their skin healthy and youthful.
