Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Olivia Merrill & Jennifer Diaz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Olivia Merrill &, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
As moms and business owners, it can be tough to find the time. However, we always intentionally make space for self care as we know you truly can’t pour from an empty cup. A few of the things we choose to fill our ”me-time” with is working out, prioritizing skin care (every day), cold plunge/sauna and walks in the sunshine – you only look as good as you feel.
Without that sacred time, we end up on auto pilot and don’t truly feel fulfilled in ourselves. The impact is massive. The time for self-care gives us the internal fulfillment to show up as our best selves!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
A little bit about the founders of The Denver Look…
Olivia Merrill – ”The Denver Look began as a local fashion and lifestyle blog highlighting Denver’s hidden gems and local businesses. As life evolved, especially after becoming a mom, so did the brand. What started as a creative outlet grew into a purpose-driven platform that celebrates community, connection, and local entrepreneurship.
Rooted in my decade-plus-long career in Denver real estate, The Denver Look was originally designed to bridge my work with my passion for supporting small businesses. I knew that real estate, like branding, thrives within the community. The Denver Look became a way to give my real estate clients added value, create exposure for local business owners, and strengthen the community as a whole.
Through this journey, I developed deep expertise in branding, content creation, and storytelling, discovering firsthand how strategy and aesthetics can elevate a business. Today, I channel that knowledge into serving the community by helping Denver-based brands build intentional identities and sustainable growth through a-back-and-better-than-ever ‘’The Denver Look’’.”
Jennifer Diaz – ”When Olivia invited me to co-lead The Denver Look, it felt like a natural evolution. With a background in wardrobe consulting and a degree in marketing, I’ve spent the last five years helping C-level executives lead with presence from their personal style to the first impression their brand makes without saying a word. Most recently, I’ve worked with both local businesses and nationally recognized brands to craft marketing campaigns that connect and convert.
Now, as we relaunch The Denver Look as a branding and content studio, I bring that same intentional lens style meets strategy to help local businesses find their voice, elevate their visuals, and show up with confidence. What once started in a client’s closet now begins at the core of their brand.”
The why behind the re-brand and what’s next for The Denver Look…

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Jennifer Diaz
‘’Looking back, three qualities that have shaped my journey most are resilience, compassion, and a unique blend of being a perfectionist and easygoing. Resilience helped me navigate the inevitable pivots and growing pains of building both a personal brand and a business. Compassion especially toward myself keeps me grounded in a people-first approach, whether I’m styling a client or building a campaign. Being detail obsessed without being rigid has allowed me to bring big visions to life without losing the joy in the process.
Skill wise, my artistic eye has always given me an edge, but what’s made the biggest difference is my ability to make people feel seen and comfortable. Whether it’s C-level executives or local business owners, creating a space where people feel safe to explore who they really are that’s where the transformation starts. From there, I use my creative direction and storytelling to turn their ideas into something visual, tangible, and powerful.
If you’re early in your journey, my advice is this: Give yourself permission to evolve. Lean into the skills that feel natural, but don’t be afraid to sharpen the ones that feel out of reach. Most importantly, keep showing up with heart. People feel that before they ever see your work.’’
Olivia Merill
‘’Looking back, three qualities have been most impactful in my journey are tenacity, gratitude, and a deep commitment to personal growth.
Tenacity has been the constant for me, the drive to keep moving forward even when the path wasn’t clear. Gratitude has been my grounding force, helping me find perspective and purpose even during challenging seasons. And understanding that building a business begins with building yourself has completely changed how I approach success.
My advice for anyone early in their journey is this: start with you. Build your character, nurture the values you want your brand and team to reflect, and the business will follow. When you focus on becoming the kind of person you’d want to work with, lead with, or buy from everything else aligns naturally.’’

How would you describe your ideal client?
At The Denver Look, our ideal client is a local business owner who’s ready to stop playing small and start showing up with intention.
They’re passionate about what they do, but often feel overwhelmed or stuck when it comes to how their brand shows up visually and verbally. Maybe they’ve grown quickly and need their brand to catch up, or maybe they’ve been doing it themselves for years without a clear vision and mission and are finally ready to invest in something cohesive, elevated, and built to last.
What makes someone an ideal fit isn’t perfection, it’s openness. They’re willing to do the deep work of clarifying their message, defining their brand story, and committing to a strategy that aligns with who they really are. They value aesthetics and strategy. They want to build something meaningful, and they know it takes more than a Canva logo or a few cute posts to get there.
Most of all, they’re local leaders emerging or established who care about their community and are excited to lead their brand forward with confidence and clarity.
