We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Olivia Sanchez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Olivia below.
Olivia , so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I come from a rural place where hard work is often undervalued. I grew up hearing stories from my abuela and mom about years of labor just to meet the bare minimum.
So yes, I’ve felt imposter syndrome. I’ve questioned whether I belonged in an industry I didn’t come from.
But then I remember I come from resilience, resourcefulness, and women with limited access to care, who used what the earth provided to create their own remedies.
I don’t need the beauty industry approval to build something meaningful. Sudz Cauldron was built to formulate with purpose and redefine business as a force for good, not just a force for profit.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m the founder of Sudz Cauldron, a Latina-owned haircare brand helping women break the exhausting cycle of buying product after product that never truly works.
The beauty industry has profited off “fixing,” women’s hair for far too long, but I believe haircare is more than vanity. You should feel confident in your natural hair, trust what you use every day, and have access to a better routine that simplifies your life.
You shouldn’t have to choose between results, healthier ingredients, convenience, or your values. I believe brands should take responsibility instead of placing the burden on consumers to “do better” all on their own.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities I believe can change everything for you are self-trust, discernment, and resourcefulness.
Self-trust is built the moment you stop waiting to feel “ready” and start taking action anyway. Every step you take shows you that you can rely on yourself. Resourcefulness becomes your edge when you stop waiting for perfect tools, funding, or timing, and start using what’s already in your hands.
And discernment is learning that not every opportunity is meant for you. Sometimes your growth looks like saying no early and staying aligned with what truly feels right for you.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
We’re always looking to partner with retailers who see their space as a place for community, representation, and access. We especially love collaborating with BIPOC- and women-owned shops, curl-focused spaces, and wellness retailers who care about ingredient integrity and offering their customers better alternatives to mass-produced products.
We’re intentional about growth, and want to be in the right spaces with partners who value education, experience, and meaningful impact.
