Meet Oluchi Precious Erondu

We recently connected with Oluchi Precious Erondu and have shared our conversation below.

Oluchi Precious, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

My generosity comes from my parents, I believe they instilled in me most of if not all my values. I learned from watching them and I am a big believer that when you learn something when you are young it follows you to adulthood. I am grateful to God everyday, for all the things I have been provided with, the opportunities and the people in my life so I try to give back in anyway I can. This could be money wise, or even through my actions; such as helping others who might be going through something I went through in the past and I am able to provide helpful tips and advice.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My name is Precious, I am Nigerian but currently based in Ottawa, Ontario. I am a full-time UGC content creator (@precious.ugc) and Hair Braider (@precious.handss). I got into UGC because of my love for content creation and fashion. I believe I express myself best through how I dress and how I present myself creatively. My niche for UGC is Lifestyle, Fashion, Beauty, and Skincare, but I am open to exploring new niches. I enjoy a challenge and would love to try travel videos as traveling is a passion of mine, though balancing both my roles has been a learning experience.

As I continue to grow my skills in UGC, I would love to start doing paid collaborations and partnering with brands that align with my values. My brand is centered on self-care and self-love, as I aim to build a community that empowers young Black women who are also on their journey of self-discovery and growth.

I started Precious Hands in 2024 and have been braiding for about eight months now. My motto is “Crowning queens, one style at a time,” which reflects my goal of making my clients feel like royalty by the time we’re done. There’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing the satisfied, confident smiles on my clients’ faces when I finish their hair. I am passionate about helping other Black women feel confident and comfortable with their hair, and I look forward to expanding this journey while creating an inclusive, empowering space.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

First, the willingness to learn, do research, and learn from others. I believe being open to learning is crucial because I am constantly evolving. As a braider, I’ve had to embrace feedback and remain open to improving my skills to better serve my clients.

Secondly, time management is a skill that becomes essential as you take on more responsibilities.

Lastly, financial planning is vital, especially for small businesses. Setting clear saving goals has been instrumental in helping my business grow and stay sustainable.

For anyone early in their journey, my advice would be to embrace a mindset of continuous learning, prioritize time management as you scale your responsibilities, and develop strong financial habits to support your goals.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

My relationship with God. Over the past 12 months, I’ve faced many ups and downs, both personally and professionally. Through it all, I’ve grown by trusting God more deeply and strengthening my relationship with Him. This journey has allowed me to see a different, more resilient side of myself, and it has been a source of peace and guidance during challenging times.
