Meet Omar Kaisi

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Omar Kaisi . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Omar , thank you so much for making time for us. We’ve always admired your ability to take risks and so maybe we can kick things off with a discussion around how you developed your ability to take and bear risk?
Risks are terrifying. “No risk no rewards” are the words I’ve always heard since I gained consciousness. As a little boy hearing these words I’d often ask myself what it is I would have to risk in order to get to a place I’ve never been. It’s like what exactly is it you would sacrifice to get to a place only your imagination is familiar with, the horizon, the end goal or whatever it is you simply FEEL. Is it temporary pleasure, comfort, or worse your sanity? . As a student who’s still learning and fighting each and everyday, dancing right on the edge of uncertainty has always been a way I’ve broken through to opportunities and personal growth which have enabled me to constantly look inward and see the world in a much nuanced light. It’s something you feel. It cannot be taught. By simply living within my means and letting the unknown overwhelm me I’ve only trained myself to not be terrified to the point of not taking any action, as that will lead to circumstances that are much dire than not facing and slaying the terrifying creature. I’ll take a risk any day any time than remaining stagnant.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As I grow older I find it hard to pin point what exactly I do/I am. I’ve always fallen comfortably to just being an “ARTIST”. Under that umbrella term i’m a writer & chef (thanks to my idol mrs Annie). If I remember correctly in the previous interview my expression for the love of creation and growth made me realise how much I’ve come to terms with how much I can bear the burden of being an evolving artist which is bitter sweet. For me, Being an evolving artist means change. I am changing each and every second. New stories to write, new places to see, new emotions to feel & bigger dragons to slay. Mrs Annie once told me “you’re as good as your last meal” and I carry these words with me each and every meal i create with my mind, body and soul. In the course of this “change” i’m adapting and developing new skills and flavours to add to my arsenal~God willingly my next book I am currently working on will be one to look out for !

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I’ll give you four; Discipline, tenacity, creativity and faith….. the list goes on but with these four I doubt you’ll have an unpleasant pursuit on this journey of Life. Without discipline you can forget about consistency. Without tenacity the world will knock you down a 100 times and you won’t have the strength to get up and press on. Without faith, taking risks and diving in the pool of uncertainty will only block out abundance you will never realise. Lastly without creativity the pursuit won’t be fun, well at least for me, If it wasn’t for my imagination and childlike nature my world would not be as colourful as it is right now. Unfortunately the “How” is something you’d have to look inside of yourself for~the only way is to look inside.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The alchemist by the late Paulo Coelho is the very first book I fell in love with amongst many I’ve read. After experiencing such a masterpiece my world is so colourful and the future is promising. “It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting”~ Paulo Coelho may his soul rest in eternal peace
