Meet Omar Rodríguez Villa

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Omar Rodríguez Villa a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Omar, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I focus on staying present and approaching situations with positivity and an open mind. It helps me focus on the things I can control and do to improve the situation I’m facing. Being present also brings out the best in me, my confidence in my skills and abilities, and most importantly, honesty, which makes me clearly see what I’m capable of doing. Because sometimes it is ok for me not to move forward and be decisive in a situation. I believe there is resilience to walk away, be honest, and decide not to confront something. Accepting that makes one stronger, too.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Omar Rodríguez Villa, and I am a Mexican Art Director #chingadole in the U.S.—based in Phoenix, Arizona. I work under the name of SINGULARBOLD and specialize in helping brands, agencies, and entrepreneurs achieve their marketing goals through art direction, motion & video, and still-life photography.

I am dedicated to creating unique and impactful visual content, utilizing both analog and digital design techniques. My aim is to craft designs that not only capture the attention of audiences but also leave a lasting impression.

My goal is to produce work that is truly singular and bold, pushing the boundaries of creative expression to make meaningful impacts.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back I can refer to “learning to adapt, move quickly and be open.” I started my business journey a year before the pandemic, and who knew that was on the way. Clearly nothing that I had on my plans worked, everything went south. I had to changed gears quickly and develop new plans on how to approach new projects/clients. Also, I decided to learn new animation skills which helped me to land a few new projects during that time.

Seeing how technology is developing and getting better every time, I believe is important to approach these new technologies with an open mind. Ai is definitely changing markets, business models and they way we work. So take advantage, learn and take the best of it to improve and make your process more efficient.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes, I’m interested to collaborate with creative directors, marketing managers/directors, entrepreneurs, business owners, or anybody in charge of a project with creative/visual needs. They can visit my website at www.singularbold.com to see my creative work and contact information. On social media, I’m under the @by.singularbold handled.
