Meet Ophelia Reign

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ophelia Reign. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ophelia below.

Ophelia , thank you so much for making time for us today. We can’t wait to dive into your story and the lessons you’ve learned along the way, but maybe we can start with something foundational to your success. How have you gone about developing your ability to communicate effectively?

When I was a kid, I never really spoke my piece. I let everyone decide for me. Now that I’m older I realized communication is more important than ever, and to communicate effectively you have to able to listen. So I started doing that. Listening to what everyone had to say forming my opinions and going from there.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Hi! My name is Ophelia, I’m an Independent Author out of Massachusetts. I’m 29, with two children. I started writing when I was young, on pieces of paper, note cards, honestly, anything that I could write on. The stories I write are different. I dabble in mixing genres, different characters. I always ensure that the stories I write have a diverse cast. I want people to be able to see themselves or their friends and family in my stories.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

My three qualities are: Persistence, Empathy, Honesty
I think those three things are the key to success. I live my life by them professionally and personally. When you first come into this it’s very overwhelming. You’re going to feel like you’re failing because of what’s happening around you but you’re not. You’re just new and through those three things, you can make nothing something.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

Through this journey, there has been so many ups and downs. I don’t think I would have made it this far without the other indie authors, editors, artists and all of the readers in the community. They have been a pool of knowledge. Giving reasources and advice, the beta and arc readers their honest opinions and feedback. Without them I don’t think I would be here.
