We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Orly Lauren Doubinsky. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Orly Lauren below.
Orly Lauren , thrilled to have you on the platform as I think our readers can really benefit from your insights and experiences. In particular, we’d love to hear about how you think about burnout, avoiding or overcoming burnout, etc.
In the early days of building Studio RÉN, a fully online, custom bridal service, I didn’t yet understand what sustainable work looked like. I was passionate and determined to prove what was possible in a space that hadn’t existed before. But after two years of balancing a full-time job and my startup, with no real rest, I burned out.
I used to believe that pushing myself to the edge was a sign of resilience. Now I know real strength is knowing your limits and honoring them.
Burnout was a transformative learning moment for me. It taught me to respect my time, listen to my body, and, most importantly, understand that loving your work doesn’t mean you’re not working. Rest is still necessary.
I still work hard, that’s part of who I am, but I moved from glorifying overwork to leading with intention, not pressure. And I’m a better creator, collaborator, and leader because of it.
There will always be challenges in building something new, just try not to lose yourself along the way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Orly Lauren Doubinsky, and I’m the founder of the bridal start-up Studio RÉN.
Studio RÉN is a fully remote, digital-first bridal house. We create realistic 3D AI simulations of each bride and her envisioned gown, using self-measurement kits and digital patternmaking to craft one-of-a-kind gowns that are luxurious, intimate, and deeply personal, all without fittings or travel.
Our designs are made to celebrate every woman, every body type, and every personal style — wherever she is in the world.
The story of Studio RÉN didn’t begin in a boardroom or a design studio. It began with a deeply personal experience that broke my heart.
A few years ago, I tried to commission a custom gown for my mother for a special occasion. The atelier took one look at her and politely refused: “We don’t do that size.” As someone who has spent my career engineering garments for international high-end fashion houses, I knew this wasn’t a limitation of skill, it was a limitation of mindset.
That event changed everything. What began as a promise to my mother has grown into a movement: high-end design without exclusion.
The most exciting part? We’re expanding. Full bride avatars, curated fabric swatch boxes, and remote fittings, all designed to bring your dream gown to life before the first stitch is sewn.
Studio RÉN was founded and continues to operate for every woman who has been told “no” by the fashion industry. Because everyone deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and beautifully dressed.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, 3 things have shaped my journey more than anything:
1. Commitment to mastering my craft
While I believe it’s valuable to explore different creative interests, true success often comes from repetition, precision, and expertise. My advice is to start by picking a lane, whether it’s construction, design, or strategy, and specialize. If you want to master the technical side of making clothing, study the traditional methods first. Understand where the craft came from. Then, stay committed to evolving, especially as new technologies continually reshape the fashion industry.
2. Creative problem-solving
Bringing a remote bridal concept to life meant reinventing how fittings, personalization, and couture could function. I’ve learned to view limitations as creative prompts rather than obstacles and try to meet them with curiosity instead of frustration.
3. Staying current with technology and global shifts
Studio RÉN began as a small in-person studio. COVID changed everything. I had to develop new ways to design and deliver gowns without ever meeting a client. AI further pushed me to reimagine how to build trust in a fully digital experience, for a product as personal and high-stakes as a wedding gown.
Advice? Stay focused, stay curious, and evolve with intention. And always be kind.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
Studio RÉN’s ideal client isn’t defined by size, budget, or style- she’s defined by intention.
She values meaning over trend and wants her gown to reflect who she is and the journey she’s taken. She may not feel seen in traditional bridal spaces, or she may have been told she doesn’t “fit the mold.”
Whether she’s planning something intimate or global, unconventional or traditional, what matters most is that her gown feels deeply personal, a reflection of how she envisions herself on one of the most meaningful days of her life. Studio RÉN’s Bride is curious about the design process, open to innovation, and finds beauty in collaboration.
At Studio RÉN, we work best with clients who are open-minded, emotionally connected to their vision, and ready to experience a bridal journey that honors their story, not just their silhouette.
If she’s ever been told “no” by the bridal industry, Studio RÉN would love to be her yes 🙂
