Hi Otis , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I developed my confidence and self-esteem through a combination of personal growth, perseverance, and self-reflection. I was not always confident, especially when entering the competitive world of bodybuilding where judgment and criticism are inevitable. However, I realized that how I handled that scrutiny truly defined my mental health.

I understood that there would always be critics and naysayers in the bodybuilding world, questioning my methods, body, and worth as a competitor. But instead of letting their words affect me, I chose to focus on my own journey, progress, and growth. I learned to seek validation from within, rather than from others.

Just like in school where grades do not define who we are, but rather the effort we put in, I viewed my bodybuilding journey in the same light. It was not about where I placed in a competition, but about the progress I made in personal growth, the lessons I learned, the strength I gained, and the perseverance I showed.

I became confident in my abilities, passionate about my goals, and determined to push myself to new heights. I dedicated myself to training, diet, and mindset, leaving no stone unturned in my pursuit of becoming the best version of myself, both physically and mentally. I realized that what truly mattered in the end was the journey, the progress, and the growth I experienced.

Despite the intense scrutiny in the bodybuilding competition world, I learned to balance it with my mental health. I continued to challenge myself, push myself, and grow in ways I never thought possible. I embraced the journey, the progress, and the growth as the true measures of success. Through personal growth, perseverance, and self-reflection, I developed my confidence and self-esteem and continue to strive for continual improvement in all areas of my life.

My name is Otis Bartlett, better known as DIVINEBOD, and I am a living testament to the power of transformation and resiliency. Starting my journey at 430lbs, I never thought I would see the day where I could proudly say I am now 245lbs and thriving in a fitness lifestyle. My story is one of overcoming self-doubt, societal expectations, and embracing the power of self-love and determination.
What sets me apart is not just my physical transformation, but the mental and emotional journey I underwent to get to where I am today. I started this journey not just for myself but for my daughter, to ensure I could be the best version of myself and not leave her fatherless due to my laziness. Along the way, I have faced setbacks, tears, and obstacles, but I have emerged stronger and more resilient than ever before.
I don’t just aspire to be a fitness model, I aspire to be a model of fitness – someone who shares the raw and unedited truth about the journey to self-improvement. I want to be a source of inspiration and motivation for others who may be struggling on their own paths. My goal is to help others like me embrace a healthy and active lifestyle, providing guidance, nutrition advice, and promoting self-love and confidence.
