We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ovcharka. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ovcharka below.

Ovcharka, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

We draw our strength from bringing our ideas to life. Whenever we feel inspired or think it would be amazing to create something, we make sure to follow through. Seeing our ideas come to fruition gives us a strong boost, making everything else we do feel easier and faster.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

We are 2D illustrators and animators, building our brand in a cohesive style. Currently, most of our work involves commissions, branding, and adding our unique perspective to existing projects. In the future, we aim to position ourselves as artists, participating in exhibitions and creating more physical art objects. We’re excited about expanding our artistic footprint beyond digital media and sharing our vision with a broader audience through various creative endeavors.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in our journey were:

1. Not being afraid to try new things: It’s important to experiment and push boundaries, even if things don’t work out perfectly at first. Persistence is key—don’t give up too quickly.

2. Understanding what truly excites you: Knowing what you genuinely enjoy helps keep your passion alive. Explore different mediums and styles until you find what resonates most with you.

3. Learning from others: Study the work of artists you admire, analyze their techniques, and gather inspiration. Creating a mood board of these inspirations can help guide your projects and keep your ideas fresh.

For those early in their journey, focus on embracing new experiences, staying true to your passions, and continuously learning from others.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

When feeling overwhelmed, it’s crucial to take breaks and allow yourself time to recharge. Rest is an essential part of staying productive and creative. Prioritize giving yourself space to unwind, whether it’s through short breaks during the day, taking time off, or doing activities that help you relax.

Also, it’s important to plan and manage your resources wisely—know your limits and don’t hesitate to set boundaries when needed. By pacing yourself and listening to your own needs, you can maintain a healthier balance and tackle challenges more effectively.
