We recently connected with Paige Baker and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Paige with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I have had a strong work ethic for as long as I can remember. I come from a family with generations of Entrepreneurs, so the desire to go out into the world and work hard for what you want has always been inside of me. My work ethic began as early as during my childhood with the yearly cookie sale when I was in Girl Scouts and still rings true today with my career in Real Estate. There is such great satisfaction in working hard towards a goal and then accomplishing what you set out to achieve.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I have been a REALTOR® for over 5 years and it has been an absolutely incredible experience so far. I work alongside my Mother, Julie, and it has been very special being able to build our business together and being able to create memories that will last a lifetime. We are in a very unique and special circumstance and I feel so blessed for it.
My passion from the beginning has been to assist First Time Home Buyers. Being able to educate and guide our clients through what might be the biggest and most important purchase of their life is something I never take for granted. We have people come to us that believe Home Ownership is far out of reach for them and it is so special to show them how it can become a reality for them and then going through the process of making it happen.
There are so many programs and resources out there for Buyers that aren’t being utilized enough and my goal is to be able to help as many people as I possibly can during my lifetime. Being able to be creative when given a client’s circumstance is always so much fun. I love a challenge and making someones dreams come true.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities or skills that have helped me tremendously in my career and in life have been self-confidence, relationship building and having a strong work ethic.
Having self-confidence in who you are and what you are capable of is something that can set you up for success in business and in life. Being able to believe in yourself and not have to look for outside validation is so important. You truly are capable of anything and everything that you set your mind to.
One of the major key factors in my success in my career so far is largely due to my ability to build strong relationships with others. This has allowed our business to mostly be based off of referrals from others. It is always so important to network and put yourself out there because you never know who you may meet. You may be able to meet someone that can open a door to an amazing opportunity or may find yourself in conversation with someone that is facing a problem that you may have the perfect solution for.
Lastly, having a strong work ethic can set you apart from others in your life and business. Spending the late nights doing research, furthering your knowledge and education and overall doing what others won’t so that you can succeed and best serve your clients will put you leaps ahead of your competition. Work ethic is something that can not be bought or taught and is something that just lives inside of you. This will draw others towards you when deciding who they want to work with.
These key factors can set you up for success in life and in business and are things that I live by daily.
Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
I think it is important to be a well rounded individual to a certain extent. It’s amazing to always try and better yourself and learn new things that can benefit yourself and business, but if after numerous attempts you just can’t get the hang of something I think that is the perfect time to leverage out what you know aren’t your strong suits.
In our business there are things that I know I am strong at and other things that I know my Mom excels at. Being able to delegate parts of our systems to each other ensures that we are running as efficiently and smoothly as possible so that our clients receive the best service possible from us.
Being able to discover these things early on in life and in business can set you up for success and help you stand out from others in your niche.
