Meet Paige Olvera

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Paige Olvera. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Paige, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
Honestly, I didn’t have much of a choice. Growing up where I did, I had two options: repeat the cycle or face the challenges head-on. It wasn’t easy, and it still isn’t. From a young age, I realized it was on me to make things happen if I wanted my life to change. Even though no kid should have to deal with so much so soon, that’s where my resilience comes from. Tough times made me tough.

I live by this saying: ‘Be the person you needed when you were younger.’ It keeps me focused on growing and being there for others. Resilience, to me, isn’t just about getting through stuff; it’s turning tough times into strength. Every problem is a chance to step up, and every setback is a setup for a comeback. So, I keep moving forward, not just for me but for anyone who needs a boost in their own journey

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hey there! I’m Paige, aka Mama Oinkers, based in DFW. My passion? Blogging about life on my Instagram. But that’s not my only gig—I’m a total Digital Marketing nerd! I get a kick out of aiding small businesses in boosting their online presence and staying on top of the ever-evolving marketing world.

In my day job, I’m an Account Manager at Rose Marketing Solutions, a Childcare Marketing Agency in Dallas, Texas. Working with a team of super talented individuals, we’re all about helping childcare owners grow their centers.

When I’m not diving into marketing projects, you’ll find me cherishing moments with my little family—Jordan and my kitty Chungus. And in those precious free moments, I’m exploring new restaurants, collecting Pokemon cards, and spreading positivity like confetti!

Stay tuned for exciting updates—because there’s always something new cooking in my world!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Communication Savvy: Mastering the art of authentic and mature communication has been a game-changer in my growth journey. In my earlier years, communication wasn’t a strong suit, making it a crucial area to develop and refine.

Attuned Listening: Hand in hand with communication, active listening is a vital skill. Effective communication relies on truly understanding what the other person is saying. This isn’t just a professional hack; it’s a powerful tool for personal growth. Listening to others’ needs, wants, and feelings broadens your own way of thinking.

Resource Know-How: Discovering the wealth of free or budget-friendly resources has been a revelation. While college is undeniably impactful, limited income calls for creative learning. Certifications, webinars, Hubspot courses, mental health resources—the list goes on! These accessible gems have been a blessing, and I continue to make the most of them. From webinars to Hubspot courses, mental health books to speaker sessions, a treasure trove of free resources awaits!

For those embarking on their journey, my advice is to invest in honing these skills. Speak with intention, listen actively, and explore the abundance of available resources. Your growth journey will thank you

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
In the whirlwind of the past 12 months, I’ve undergone a transformative journey. Shifting from an Executive Assistant to the CEO and Owner to a full-fledged Account Manager, managing a diverse portfolio of clients, has been a dynamic experience. The most significant area of growth for me? Prioritizing my mental health and self-care.

Learning to advocate for my well-being has been a game-changer. I’ve embraced the notion that it’s okay to have ‘easy days’ and to utilize my PTO without guilt. This mindset shift stems from a history of feeling the need to do it all, a product of my past experiences and upbringing. However, having a supportive team that I can rely on, who not only advocates for my well-being but genuinely cares, has made all the difference. They’ve taught me a crucial lesson: to operate at my best, I must take time to recharge.
