Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Paige Sierra & Cynthia Bates . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Paige and Cynthia , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
Cynthia: as a child, my dad was in the marines and he worked long, hard days. I watched him get up everyday, even when he was tired and didn’t want to, he always showed up and did good job. Sometimes, even when you don’t enjoy what you’re doing, you should take pride in the effort and work you’ve put in. His work ethic resonated with me and became something i wanted to emulate in my life and still do to this day.
Paige: my work ethic definitely comes from watching my mother as a child. She was a single parent of three kids and she pushed through and overcame many obstacles to get where she wanted to be. I believe that if you really want something, you do whatever it takes to get it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
We are a female owned, handmade Slow fashion swimwear brand. We use unique fabrics that you can’t find anywhree else. We create and design all our own patterns and styles for a truly special experience.
Last year we launched an exciting product for cleaning swimwear. Our Swim Soap is a an eco friendly swimwear cleaner, handcrafted by us. It’s a gentle cleaner that helps maintain the life of all swimwear!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Cynthia: going to fashion school made a major impact in my life and decision to start a brand. I have had an obsession with colors my whole life and feel that’s allowed me to create beautiful pieces for our brand.
Paige: my skills as a photographer are ultimately what led me to wanting to start my own brand. I worked with many fashion brands in the past and always felt I would enjoy having my own brand to shoot and creates amazing content.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
