We recently connected with Paloma & Seth Tillotson and have shared our conversation below.

Paloma & Seth, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

I love this question because I personally consider that an amazing thing: authenticity! Being the only one in the room that looks like me has allowed me to connect with myself, and to show it to everyone in my unique way. Everyone has different skills, talents, beliefs, and we all come from different backgrounds. All of this together is what makes us who we are, and that’s so important to apply when building a brand.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

We’re a wife & husband duo, and we absolutely LOVE working together. Our first business was Tilly Events – a luxury picnic company. We’ve also started Beautiful – a super fun charm necklace store, and we’re soon launching our social media & branding agency. We love learning about business, and we’ve been having so much fun, and connecting with so many amazing people. We have big plans, and each of our companies has a special place in our hearts. For each of them, the most important thing is always the EXPERIENCE we provide for our amazing costumers, and we always make sure they have the best quality product/service!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

If I’d need to choose three skills, I’d say: networking skills, social media, and problem solving. These three qualities/skills have been so important in our journey. They have allowed to grow our businesses in a. considerable way, and connect with amazing people in our niches. I definitely recommend studying and learning about them, as well as implementing them as soon as possible in our business adventures.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

We LOVE collaborating with other vendors, business owners, people in general. It is so much fun, and definitely the best part in my opinion. We love connecting with fun and creative people, with new ideas, and ready to work!
