Meet Pam Covey

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Pam Covey a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Pam, thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?

My self-discipline comes from setting my yearly goals, as well as quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily goals. I write them down by hand on my calendar and track how I accomplish each day’s tasks and every point of my set goals.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I moved to the U.S. in 2024 with just $50—or maybe even less—in my pocket. I arrived alone, with no family or relatives, and worked hard to learn and overcome challenges until I discovered my passion for real estate. It truly rang a bell for me.

Now, I am a realtor with 13 years of experience and have been investing in real estate for about 10 years, currently managing my own rental portfolio of 13 units. My passion lies in helping clients buy and sell homes, as well as guiding them in real estate investments for passive income.

I thrive on discussing real estate, sharing insights on how to invest wisely, and assisting people in planning their investment strategies to maximize their income. I genuinely enjoy helping others achieve their dream of owning real estate and building wealth through it.

In my spare time, I love gardening, particularly caring for flowering plants, and cooking Thai food for my family and friends. These activities bring me joy and balance in my life.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

If I reflect on the three most important qualities in life, they would be:

Knowledge: It’s not just about having a college degree, but about gaining expertise in your field. For me, that expertise lies in real estate, financial planning, and investing.

Persistence: It’s essential to keep practicing and not give up. If I fail, I try again in a different way. I won’t quit or surrender to challenges.

Good Mindset: In everyday life, we face numerous negative situations that can bring us down. However, I refuse to give up. I remind myself that there’s always a path to success, as long as I ensure that I’m doing the right thing with good ethics. If I stumble, I allow myself to feel disappointed but then focus on growth. I believe there’s always room for me to improve and evolve.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

Who helps me overcome challenges? It may sound cliché, but I would say it’s myself. I see the light of my world in real estate, where I truly am my own CEO, boss, admin, marketer, advertiser, cleaner, and driver. I work independently, wearing all these hats to ensure I can maintain my job and grow my business. I’ve been able to earn more in real estate by helping people, but I wouldn’t be successful without partnerships with lenders, insurance agents, financial advisors, title companies, and lawyers.my broker/manger and other realtor most of all my clients that trusting in me.

I believe that success cannot be achieved without a strong foundation, and for me, that foundation is my family. I have a supportive husband who allows me to work as much as I want, in the way I want. He encourages me whether I choose to work hard or take a step back. His support is unwavering, and it empowers me to strive for success.
