Meet Paolo Buonfante

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Paolo Buonfante a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Paolo , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

My grandfather and my father

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I was born in Milan Italy and my family had been in the fashion industry for 3 generations .
My dream was to live in a place that i love and chose a profession that would make me look forward to wake up in the morning and start my day with a smile on my face.
I love Fashion and traveling to see new places and lear about new cultures .Do things that I haven’t done before to grow in knowledge and creativity.
When i arrived in Miami I had no work , no place to stay and almost no money but I remember what my grandfather told me : “this is your life , make the best of it and don’t give up your dreams because you will make it “.
I had interview with most fashion agencies in Miami but nobody wanted to hire me . I then picked my favorite offered to give my service for free for 30 days . They agreed. After 2 weeks the hired me and after 2 moths the owner called me from Paris and asked me to manage the company ……. that’s how everything started .
Today I mage Elite Models in Miami.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1) Have dreams

2) Travel if possible to open your mind and understand that even if you feel you have nothing , there is many people in this world that have less than you .

3) Love your job and work hard.

4) Respect everybody but make other respect you .

5) Don’t judge other since you don’t know what they went through in their journey and if you can help them to understand how to better their own life .

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

My father to teach me about work ethics and my mother about love .
