Meet Pape Ndao

We were lucky to catch up with Pape Ndao recently and have shared our conversation below.

Pape , so great to have you on the platform and excited to have you share your wisdom with our community today. Communication skills often play a powerful role in our ability to be effective and so we’d love to hear about how you developed your communication skills.

From my first couple weeks in auto sales, my mentor told me that I have two ears and one mouth. So that simply means listen twice as much as you speak. And throughout the years, that has work well for me. I have always listen and take notes.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a real estate agent out of CT. I primarily focus in Fairfield and New Haven counties. I’m family oriented, when I’m not out helping people achieve their real estate goals, I’m home with my family. I’m married with four kids, I’m runner and training for my first full marathon this year. Last year, I completed to half marathons.
I love sales and I have been in sales pretty much all my life. I had a successful carrier as a car salesman and when covid hit I have decided to go into real estate to have more time to spend with my family while making more money.

The beginning was a little tough financially but I always knew that I would do great in real estate because even as a car salesman, I had I have have always focused more on the clients’ experience than the actual sale. And the gave me “For life” clients. I went from selling their families multiple cars to helping the relocate!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Be genuine and always put the clients best interest at heart.
Use a CRM, track and keep your database up to date
Be coachable and always be willing to learn and adopt

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

Think and grow rich.
Winners never quit and quitters never win
