Meet Patrice Karst

We were lucky to catch up with Patrice Karst recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Patrice, thank you so much for joining us today. There are so many topics we could discuss, but perhaps one of the most relevant is empathy because it’s at the core of great leadership and so we’d love to hear about how you developed your empathy?

One of the gifts that come out of an abusive childhood is the ability to have empathy for others that are struggling. I sadly was born to mentally ill parents that were very cruely abusive and neglectful. They both had also been victums of abuse and the cycle continued. I often felt that I didn’t belong on this planet at all. As I grew into a highly sensitive person on a deep spiritual journey, I had a natural compassion for my other brothers and sisters that also struggled and suffered alongside of me. No doubt, it was from this painful start to life that I ended up writing the books that I have and that have touched the hearts of millions worldwide. Funny how that all works. From pain often comes the greatest art and the ability to touch the core of others.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am the author of the bestselling, contemporary classic The Invisible String, which has sold over 2 million copies and been translated into 20 languages.I have also written The Invisible Leash, The Invisible Web, You Are Never Alone, The Invisible String Workbook, The Invisible String Backpack, The Smile That Went Around the World and Ruby and Lonely. Next year, How Jackson Found His Joy Again and The Invisible String Family Celebration will be released and in 2026, my adult book God Made Easy will be published. I have been on a lifelong mission to spread the message that love transcends time and space and is the most powerful force in the universe.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Without meaning to sound cliche’- I would say quite simply, follow your heart, do what you love and stay authentic no matter what. Less is more. Learn to say what you mean simply and clearly. Listen to your gut and know that no one on this planet is you – so be YOU!

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

When I ready Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda, my life changed and my spiritual journey stepped into full force. We are spiritual beings having a human experience here on Earth. There is so much more than meets the eye and the Invisible Worlds are the real worlds. Earth is a school that we come to learn our lessons and they we go Home and Home is incredible!
