Meet Patricia Franklin

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Patricia Franklin. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Patricia below.

Patricia , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Since the tender age of 13 years old I have had a deep love with writing. My first writings were actually poetry. I grew up timid not really knowing how to evoke my feelings and found solace in writing poetry.

It was my grandmother who supported this gift and who used to tell me, “You’re a writer so write”. Embarking on her words I was able to revel in this gift.

Now having a writing business called Franklin Freelance Writing Consulting I have found my purpose in writing. Which is supporting others in their writing. I do so by supporting clients breakthrough writers block, writing anxiety, and to be confident in their writing abilities.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Greetings,

My name is Patricia Franklin, I am the Face, the Founder, and Writing Consultant behind Franklin Freelance Writing Consulting. Franklin Freelance Writing has been supporting students and business professionals alike in services such as: academic writing, resumes and cover letters, business proposals, and more.

Tailored to students and meeting them where they are within their writing is the key to Franklin Freelance’s success. There are many business professionals who aren’t sure where to start with a business proposal. It brings me great joy to be able to partner with others in their writing and watching their grow within themselves.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three quality skills that have supported me in being successful with Franklin Freelance Writing is organization, communication, and systems management.

Organization is a top priority for me. When onboarding a new client, this shows them how the business is run, what they can expect through the experience, and above all else the reputation. I am a stickler for color coordinated calendars and deadlines. These two examples provide a strong organizational base in the peak seasons .

Communication in any relationship/partnership is critical in order for two individuals to build trust , respect, and understanding. At the top of every week, each client is spoken to regarding project(s) for the week . This also provides them with a one-to-one moment with myself to discuss any of their concerns, areas of hands on support, and to be on the same page.

Systems management runs Franklin Freelance Writing at its core. Following through with systems provides me with the ease in supporting each clients needs. This also regulates my daily and weekly processes.

The impact seen behind Franklin Freelance Writing is watching clients graduate. I have had the honorable pleasure of seeing two clients graduate and it gave me great joy to know that Franklin Freelance Writing supported them through their writing to take a leap of faith into their next education journey.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

The book that has played an important role within my development is my debut book, “Sis, You Need Some Rest” – A Mental Health Guidance Book for the Hearts of the Household. This book challenged me emotionally and professionally in telling my story about grief, my career, my family, and navigating womanhood.

For women who are feeling “stuck”, “alone”, “burned out”, and in high needs of care. This book is dedicated and was written specifically for you. I am the vessel for the world in advocating to women, “Sis, You Need Some Rest!”
