Meet Patrick “prettyboypatt” Edge

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Patrick “prettyboypatt” Edge. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Patrick “PRETTYBOYPATT”, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from the setbacks that I go through and when dealing with that I grow and become the best version of myself keeping a great mindset that I know I will make it through a storm. I also get my resilience from my mother who passed away due to Covid in April of 2020 and I watched her do it all no matter how she felt she pushed to give others and provide for her church her community and her family and I studied that

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a clothing brand owner /fashion designer and stylist since young my mom brought me up in the foundation of church and my heavy faith and belief in God, I was involved with so much singing in the choir playing the drums being on the dance ministry volunteering for the kitchen serving breakfast. I’m very gifted and talented but I took a wrong turn not understanding my leadership calling and resulted to being in the street which lead to my incarceration at 17 years old and that’s when I knew I wanted something different for my life I knew this wasn’t my destiny. I believe that God allowed me to see different things greater than just what’s in front of me and my life took a drastic turn when I lost my mom due to Covid in 2020 and I was trying to figure out how I was going to live without her it was one of the hardest things I ever had to deal with than a year later I was a victim of gun violence and That’s when my resilience became even more stronger rehabilitating my self wasn’t easy physically and mentally and even emotionally and than God blessed me with a son that same year on Christmas and my life changed for the better I realized my purpose in life and my son became my priority to make better decisions and better my life and I tell my story and motivate the youth as a mentor helping people get through they storm when they hear that I’ve Made it through they start to know it’s possible and its a way out and that it can be done so now it’s bigger than just me having a clothing brand I’m a icon within in my community and advocating for what we need for our community to prevent incarceration and to get the proper rehabilitation and healing through the things that people have gone through my main goal is to be the best clothing brand on the world travel the world and not only doing that teaching people about building brands and speaking about the mindset of a entrepreneurship while becoming the best version of yourself and following and making your dreams a reality

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I think my mindset is everything and I thank my mom every day for that teaching me how to articulate my self and owning any room I walk in and most importantly letting me know that you can do whatever you set your mind too and keep God first and everything else will follow

The skills I have that is most strong is the way I can reach people and engage them to meet them right where they are

The knowledge I have comes from my experiences and evaluating them to reach a solution and mentors and people that build me and remind me how important I am and how much I’m needed but most importantly me knowing my worth and value being secure within my self and spreading that energy to someone who maybe may not feel the same

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

My son is my motivation for everything I do why I go so hard to always be the best version of myself and rehabilitate my self God is my biggest foundation and my faith in him keeps me grounded to know that anything I can overcome and conquer I live by the scripture Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ that strengthen me”

The key to being successful is knowing first that you are already successful it’s all part of the manifestation and affirmation process because if you don’t claim it or don’t believe it than how can you expect someone else I believe it

Another key to success is building long lasting healthy relationships the great energy and love and support you spread speaks for your character and people remember how you make them feel even if they don’t remember what you say.
